As the flood of ILLEGAL immigrants rises in the USA, the government seems to turn a deaf ear towards the worries of American citizens about the effects on employment, environment, and other resources. Do you think that citizens will become so fed up that they will take matters into their own hands in numbers larger than the minuteman groups? Do you predict another "civil war" between citizens and illegals? I would like to know what your predictions are for this country if things keep going the way they are. Please try not to make this a racial thing this is about American citizens and Illegal immigrants regardless of what race they all are. Thank You!

There will never be a civil war between civilians and illegals. The government would never allow citizens to be harassed in that way and would send troops to kill the illegals. This is the US and we don't take that crap.

As to the government not heeding the peoples wish to be rid of illegals you will see after the next election that the people still have the power to run this country and some illegal supporters will lose their jobs in the government. We aren't kidding when we say we want illegals out of the country and the pols who don't listen are going to be out of business. We stopped the Bush/Kennedy amnesty and we stopped Dream Act and we WILL be sending them home never to return.

Between the years 1946 and 1965 an unprecedented number of Americans were born. This 'baby boom' 30 million of them generation - 30 million of them - dominated American political and economic life for the last 40 years or so, and is still a dominant force in American politics.

There are more immigrants in America today than Baby Boomers. In another decade, if there isn't another Amnesty, there may well be more illegal aliens in America than 'boomers. The result will inevitably be the same. Businesses and politicians will unabashedly cater to the biggest demographic segment of the population, and other cohorts will have to cater to them, or hang onto thier coat-tails in some other way, or be left behind.

People already have. Have you seen the various city councils enacting rental laws that state you can't rent to somebody without proof of citizenship or residency?

But it really depends on the area and its politics. In New Haven, CT, they enacted a law giving IDs to illegals so they could open bank accounts. They did this to help prevent them from being beaten and robbed.

Other cities, such as Oakland, CA, have declared themselves as sanctuaries for illegals.

The only problem I have is that the those who help the illegals don't realize that the illegals don't really give a damn about them, only about saving up enough money to go back home and live the good life. Those same illegals folks are helping would sell them down the river in a heartbeat.

I think people should think about that before they declare themselves a "sanctuary" city.

I read a story about some mayor in upstate New York recently. He helped out several illegals by giving them construction jobs or something like that. In the end, he was the one who got indicted and lost everything!

As for the future of the USA, it is going to boil down to a really divided government, because Latinos are far more politically active than the other minority groups, and are exercising that power with each passing year. I can imagine states like CA, NY, WA, AZ, NM, and TX with lots of Latino reps and maybe a Latino senator each, and some Latino governors. They will be in opposition with whiter states like the states in the South, Idaho, etc. etc. Makes for some interesting debates on the floor, eh?

So what we will have is a government that is less reponsive than it is now...

this country will be dominated by corporations. the government will protect them. we will keep most laborers illegal because it makes dollar sense. we will go to war with countries that have resources they cannot defend. we will demolish those countries and give rebuilding contracts to corporations. we will try to draw our targets into war with us very obviously and evidently and if that does not work, maybe attacking ourselves and blaming it on the enemy. we will need a large population. thankfully we have a lot of people coming from the south that satisfy the requirement. we need taxpayers to fund the wars with taxes and military personnel. keeping these people poor is a good way to ensure we never need a draft. we will continue to decry our education woes and do nothing about it. we need people to be dumb and entertained and then politicians don't need to find new ways to lie- they can blatantly insult the intelligence of the too few to make a difference.

The future? I see things coming to a head. We could very well be headed toward a hard recession. When unemployment is 10% and Americans are really hurting you'll see massive round-ups and deportations.

Unfortunately, nothing very good, judging from much of what I see around me.

I hope I'm wrong.

It doesn't really matter if they are legal or illegal , you are all immigrants except for the native americans. They are the only ones allowed to complain.
