Amen to that. It will never happen, it takes effort to become educated and most are not willing to do what needs to be done.

The more educated you get on this topic, the more the problem with illegal immigration, particularly on our schools and services REDUCING opportunity for our own people becomes apparent.

Big business doesn't want to pay the true cost of their cheap labor, they want our taxfunded programs like schools and hospitals to subsidize their cheap work force that undermines American wages. So public schools are failing our own children in areas where illegal immigrants concentrate. Take a look at LAUSD 30 years ago, and today, for American citizen's children. All the money has been leaked from programs for our children to support ESL and intervention for the 'difficult ESL demographic' about half of whom, we are told, are illegally here (in this state), and more of whom are children of those illegally here.

As one example, when I, my father and grandparents went through middle school here, there was a choice of languages. Now language is reserved to English for ESL, and when the class graduates, our children are the only ones in the room who are NOT bilingual. How do they have MORE opportunity, again?

Where is your compassion for OUR children?

It's not a matter of educating ourselves at all. Some people neither have the money or the smarts for higher education. It's not a matter of competition either. It is a matter of illegal immigrants undermining Americans by willingly working for lower wages. This is why big business just loves them and will continue to hire them over American citizens.

No, just because we have "some" opportunities that others don't doesn't mean that we are all going to be able to use them.

There are so many in this country who CAN'T get college degrees either because they can't afford it or they are simply not smart enough.

Let's face it we can't ALL be doctors, lawyers, engineers and accountants. And even if we were there would still be companies looking to hire cheaper immigrants.

companies that AVOID American college grads.

It's not about education here, we produce plenty of college grads, its about M-O-N-E-Y.

I AM an educated person...not just by my degree's but by lifes experience itself...more importantly, I do believe I have common sense...(something I know our politicians dont seem to have) Common sense tells me that Illegal aliens take much more than they give in relationship to their prescense here...and as long as they are willing to work cheaper than what an American citizen can live on, there is always going to be a problem as wages are being depressed...all for the sake of the almighty US companies and employers...and if our govt would just grow a backbone and enforce the law...we would not have the problem we have today...

Probably not. Then we'd just have a bunch of underpaid educated citizens who lose even more to illegals because they won't take so little pay.

Not everyone one of our citizens is cut out for higher education. Intellect and opportunity varies from person to person. There should be a place for every citizen of our country. We should all be able to sustain ourselves and not have to compete with an illegal foreigner for work.

we are educated that's why we don't want illegals. we understand the implications. now educate yourself. i challenge you to look at both links. on the youtube look at the first 5 videos then come back and post another question once you have looked at the information. maybe we'll teach you something. you may have different feelings about the illegal immigrant issue.

I think if illegals stopped draining the system dry and abusing the locals they'd be fine.

I'm already educated on this issue and I stand fast that people who enter and are in the country illegally shouldn't be here or be given leniency in the matter.
