The overall solution is to make illegal immigrants want to return to their countries of origin voluntarily.

To do this we should make the life of an illegal immigrant in this country as difficult as possible. This includes but is not limited to strict employer oversight, changes to US citizenship laws, and refusal of all social services (except in cases of life or limb).

I do believe other measures such as a border fence, law enforcement such as ICE, and other active enforcement measures should also be used.

Illegal immigrants get a free ride once they get here. If they didn't they'd go home and quickly too.

1
enforce the laws we already have on the books.
Most are smuggled into this country. As smuggling is a crime the smuggle can be charged with conspiracy. When more than 2 people are involved in a conspiracy it makes them a "ring". That could easily get you up to "RICO" and not only can you then confiscate any property obtained by or used in this "CRIME RING".
Criminals are routinely Finger Printed and now they call it Bio Metrics so it includes pictures and any other identifiers like DNA.

2
As a large number of these smugglers (coyotes) also carry weapons and drugs these are more charges that could be filed against all conspirators. In most states there are now mandatory sentences for possession of a fire arm during the commission of a felony.

3
After serving their time being convicted criminals they are extremely DEPORT-ABLE

4
And what could these convicted felons do while serving their time.
In most states inmates can be used for labor on state property and projects.
I hear some South Western States are in need of some FENCE

No it might not send anybody home but I would bet a large amount of cash that when word got back home that those damn gringos are serious as hell.

And while I'm thinking about it, where are we training all our troops serving in those desert countries.

I have several more Ideas that don't require any more laws and little if any tax payer money

There is only one solution, but our own government won't do it. The government doesn't want to get rid of illegals, the people do. And until they figure out how to fill 23 million jobs that most people won't or can't do, they will bend to pressure from huge companies that employ them. You want to really do your part...If you suspect an alien ,call I.N.S. turn them in. Sure ,,we go back to the nazi's turning in jews but jews were legal citizens at the time, I know. If I.N.S. raided and caught every illegal alien no matter what country they came from, and had to ship everyone to the border. Do you know how much that would cost? It's impossible, this is a pipe dream at best....

1. Accept the fact that the government does not want to end it
2. Let both parties reveal to the general public the positive affects for having illegal immigrants
3. Amnesty or increase speed for citizenship

In the short term illegal immigrants pay into the Social Security system which is almost bankrupt.

They also provide recruits for the military.

The Development, Relief, and Education for Alien Minors Act, or DREAM Act, is part of the stalled package of proposals that many in Congress are seeking to resurrect. The proposal, applicable to an estimated 750,000 undocumented residents of military age, stipulates that those who arrived in the United States before age 16, graduated from high school, and meet other qualifications could immediately enter the path to citizenship in exchange for at least two years' service in the armed forces.

Ron Paul has stated that he wants very strong borders and he was appalled that our government had taken border guards off of our borders to send them to Iraq.
http://www.lewrockwell.com/orig8/haman3.html

This is his six point plan:
Physically secure our borders and coastlines. We must do whatever it takes to control entry into our country before we undertake complicated immigration reform proposals.
Enforce visa rules. Immigration officials must track visa holders and deport anyone who overstays their visa or otherwise violates U.S. law. This is especially important when we recall that a number of 9/11 terrorists had expired visas.
No amnesty. Estimates suggest that 10 to 20 million people are in our country illegally. That’s a lot of people to reward for breaking our laws.
No welfare for illegal aliens. Americans have welcomed immigrants who seek opportunity, work hard, and play by the rules. But taxpayers should not pay for illegal immigrants who use hospitals, clinics, schools, roads, and social services.
End birthright citizenship. As long as illegal immigrants know their children born here will be citizens, the incentive to enter the U.S. illegally will remain strong.
Pass true immigration reform. The current system is incoherent and unfair. But current reform proposals would allow up to 60 million more immigrants into our country, according to the Heritage Foundation. This is insanity. Legal immigrants from all countries should face the same rules and waiting periods.

Whatever is necessary to bring about economic growth in the countries with people deprived or depraved enough to illegally enter nations for a buck.

Most importantly and quickest (as well as cheapest) would be to get past the objections to birth control, offer the year-long birth-control inoculation as the FIRST line of charity, and insist that impoverished peoples make education a priority for their young.

very stiff penalties for people who hire them. no way to earn money = no reason to be here, it would greatly reduce the flow and make it much more manageable to enforce. and like the guy above said, put a stipulation into law that ends anchor babies

fences and stuff are futile because the volume it just too great, and if they get caught they just try again the next week and the next week until they get in. you need to deter people from coming and/or staying here by making it harder to live here illegally. then there will be a lot less, and it will be much easier to manage those that remain

The answer to this question should be quite simple and it does not really involve erecting physical barriers into our land that can easily by surmounted by most illegal aliens. All politicians and pundits who promote the idea that a border fence will somehow curtail immigration are merely trying to win brownie points. They are not coming up with a rational or feasible solution to the problem. All this proposed border fence represents is political window dressing and nothing more.

The real remedy to our illegal immigrant problem is three fold. One we must make the price of entering the country so fearsome, that most would not dare try. The second aspect to this resolution to our illegal immigrant issue involves making the assimilation to our language and mores an absolute must if they want to hold down a job, obtain an education for their kids, get medical care, or have access to housing of any kind, etc. Finally financial penalties must be levied against employers who hire illegal immigrants, and these penalties must be so staggering as to make the practice of hiring illegal immigrants cost prohibitive. In other words, these punishing fines should be so high that it would be cheaper to hire an American raised worker.

As to the first of my propositions, pertaining to making illicit entry into our country fearful, this can only be done by two methods:

1. Giving our border patrol agents the right to use lethal force on any illegal immigrant that tries to evade capture.

2. Confining repeat offenders to long prison sentences in virtual concentration camps that deprive them of the rights and creature comforts accorded to our most hardened criminals.

Part of the reason why Latin Americans scoff at our immigration policy is because there is no immediate and severe consequence for violating our policies.

In terms of implementing my second proposition with respect to making life unlivable in the United States without proficiency in English, I think this should be fairly easy to do. Employers should be barred from hiring employees to do any job, no matter how menial or mundane, without written and oral proficiency in English of a level equivalent to a 6th grade student. This can be done through the formulation of government issued standardized tests. I don’t care if you are a janitor, landscaper, or construction worker, this rudimentary grasp of English is a must. Without this proficiency proven, the said immigrant cannot get any job, should be prohibited from owning a house or renting an apartment, and they should not be able to get public access for their children to healthcare or education.

The main reason why immigrants in our age are not learning the language and assimilating to our way of life, and immigrants of old, were more than happy to learn English and become fully integrated is because American culture, 30 plus years ago, was not bound by political correct standards, and thus we did not cater to immigrants, but instead they had to live up to our standards.

Finally, penalizing employers who hire illegal aliens is a must, for they are the main culprits that make illegal entry into this country so attractive. Remove the access to easy employment, and cost saving benefits of employing illegal immigrants and you squash any desire to come to this country by illegitimate means and you remove any financial incentive to hire illegal immigrants.

I believe that illegal Mexicans have the right to come to America.
Why is it that so many Full-Blooded Americans call them illegal aliens? Before the pilgrims and even Christopher Columbus came to the Americas, Mexican ancestors roamed the greater American plains. So yes, I do believe that Mexicans should have the right to come here as they wish. Many of you may think otherwise but I do not care what you think, besides the main reason why they come is because they believe that America is greater than their country. Why should we try blocking those people off?

A FENCE, double layered, with trenches, motion/pressure detectors, etc...

Did you know illegals are using over 11 billion (thats right, billion, not million) dollars in health care, education, and public housing money?? My brother (born and raised here in the US) lives on the border, in McAllen, a REAL american citizen, and he cannot even get decent health/medical care because THE CRIMINALS (illegal aliens) are using it all up!
