Rabid Frog- Yep, and they could very well have brought in nuclear materials...so would you say that securing our borders isnt just a illegal issue, but also a security issue against possible terrorists?

Yes the Northern border is just as important. People tend to forget about our Northern border because of the illegal immigration problem but terrorists are likely to go after the easiest entry possible and that may well be the border with Canada.
"crossed the border four times carrying a large, red duffel bag without being intercepted." - that is not good...

Anyone that is here illegally from any other country is treated the same, according to the laws. (That is if the laws are enforced.)
Both borders are important, it is the difference in the people as to why there are more Southern entrants who are illegal.
People from South American countries and the islands come in through Mexico because they look similar and no one will know if the person is from Columbia, Mexico, or Cuba, or etc. So everyone blames the Mexicans. But there are less people coming in from the North Border because of the differences in culture. Canadians know that our government is usually not to be messed with regarding the laws. Mexicans (and the other southern countries) do not realize this because our laws are not being enforced and because they got amnesty in the 80's.

I have lived on both borders, Sweet grass Montana and San Ysidro California, they are a world of difference. On the Canada side you have the English speaking RCMP on the other Spanish speaking ANM and Mexican Army. One has almost an identical culture, with the same aspirations, and same worries, the same friends and the same enemies the other is as different as two countries can be who so far have not been at war for 158 years.
Build the southern border then worry about the northern.

As are the several gaps in security around Radioactive waste sites in the US. Texas especially. A 20/20, Dateline, or 60 Minute news crew and reporter pointed those out 4 years after 9/11. To date I understand those in Texas still has those gaps.

And the Radioactive material wouldn't be the only things coming into this country undetected. What countries around the world are shipping their products and goods into Canada with lead poisoning, and such as we are seeing in the US lately. Then Canada slapping a Canadian made label on it and crossing our borders with it. And Mexico the same. US lately is being inundated with all these things from Canada and Mexico with each of their "Made In ______" labels. And all of that will soon be lost as to where to track it to the country of origin.
Think about that.

1. Millions of illegals aren't coming over the northern border.
2. I trust Canada's customs and immigrations a lot more than Mexico's or any other Latin American country's.
I'd like to get the northern border secured also, but it's the southern border that is more important right now.

My relatives told me that the Chinese illegal immigrants enter vancouver and then sneak into the US through the Canadain border, so it is important to improved defense. We need to concentrate the larger problem. The problem is that we don't have the resources to cover both borders, and Chertoff stated that we are over extended. We are training new border patrol, but they are a liability due to their lack of experience. They are more likely to make mistakes and take bribes. Also remember the guy with TB snuck back from Canada. Also remember Canada has a larger border with us than Mexico.

I`m pretty sure it`s got to do with terrorism, why else sneak in like that and the cost is crazy-someone is giving them that kind of cash. Having kids along would be a front for what they are up to. Better have more patrol before something happens-that`s the way it always is-wait for something to happen first. Don`t feel like this country is very safe at all, from the different ways just about anybody can get in-total insanity.

Yes. The northern border is important too. It is important in a different way of course. We don't have Canadians coming into the U.S. illegally by the MILLIONS, but it is probably certain that terrorists are entering by multiple locations, and not merely our land borders.

It's actually more important. Being much longer, as well as having navigable waters for half its length, many of the terrorist states were once part of the British Empire, so the people speak with a British accent, like the Canadians! Not too many Spanish speakers in Afghanistan!

i believe that we've saved the back door open using actuality that we do % the cheap exertions additionally, I mean certainly i understand human beings that are working interior the U.S. that are unlawful. Who does it injury? no longer the government, they nonetheless get their money. It hurts us. i think of that they understand what they are doing, in simple terms as they (the government) would not let us know a lot of different issues that are happening.
