Do you mean the re-action of people in the United States and the US government of at the time.

The Chinese came over to help with the railroad system in the 1800's, and also the Gold Rush. Many people were upset at the Chinese coming over. There were many stereotypes of the Chinese who came over. One of the biggest things that were said about them is that they were stealing jobs of Americans. When it was mostly Chinese and the Irish and other immigrants, ex-slaves and Native Americans working on the railroad expansion. Congress passed the Chinese Exclusion Act in 1882 which specifically limited further Chinese immigration. That was the first time that Americans and the American government actually started to target people based on what country or their orgin when it came to immigration. Also there was the "Yellow Perill" which your not taught unless your in a college level course in American History. Basically people were targeting the Chinese community people, the Chinese were lynced, and targeted by "community groups" in California who wanted to prevent the immigration of the Chinese. David Starr Jordan and politicians such as James D. Phelan, were involved in this.

Did you know that many of the Chinese who build the railroad were not allowed to even on on it or take a cross country trip? They were not given credit in public speeches.

There was also immigration against the Japanese in the early 1900's where the US basically told Japan not to let it's citizen's come into the United States it was called the Gentlemen's Agreement of 1907. In San Fransisco the school districts basically enforced separte schools for the Japanese students, this included students who were only 1/2 Japanese or 1/4 Japenese. Those who passed as "white" and had no Japanese sur-names where allowed to go to school with the white students.

The list goes on and one. I'd suggest you take a class on Asian-American history, it's actually one of the most interesting classes I took while in undergrad.

Did you mean the impact "of" Asian Immigrants?

If you meant the impact on asian immigrants then you are missing something to impact "on" them.
