my friend is an undocumented alien in the united states,she has been here for 4 years, without work, and her education is some college mostly in the animal field,would this new guest worker thing that they are trying to do help her somehow? would she still be able to gain temporary status here?its been impossible to find work as you need to be legal.

The bill that is being debated will seek to normalize the status of people like your friend. In order to qualify as a guest worker, she would have to be sponsored by a company which would then have to petition for her legal status.

The guest worker part of the bill will be of no use to her. But, aside from that, the Amnesty is more-or-less a blanket thing, she can get her Z-visa.

she needs to go back home, go through the legal process to return, at least this way, she want be a criminal as she is considered to be right now. she could probably make better money being a legal than illegal.
