There is only documented and undocumented. The same way America was founded, others should be able to come in, take your charity, after you help them through the winter, then poison you for being heathens, no? It's the American way!

For those who are wondering...
I was a "legal" immigrant and a regular "naturalized" citizen of this country. I didn't pay any bribes to anyone and I didn't live here illegally beforehand.

I agree the demonstrations really put a sour note on the whole thing. What the heck is up with the upside-down American flag? For that act alone there should be no amnesty but it isn't that simple.

The illegal immigrants are more than the legal one, and that people usually work for nothing or takes work that others don't want to takes, so the people thing their stealing jobs but the realities is that they do the work that they don't want to do better and for left, but something really serious is that just of this people steal other identity and they can commit a crime and still living around just by using other names. That the only reason that and do not favor the ilegal immigration. The other day I heard about a Mexican boy that commited many assult against woman around him, he raped them but one of them was waiting the bus with her little boy about 1 year old. Maybe you know him it can be your neighbor but with other name, how they can find him, chnaging from place and names?

I did not give it much thought and commiserated with .....
UNTIL THE MAY DAY DEMONSTRATIONS!!!!
that kinda soured me.....
and I was in a twist for a while.....
I've calmed a bit.....
somebody put those demonstrators up to the
rhetoric and the upside down American Flags.
And the Reconquista nonsense.
It should have occured to LA RAZA that this approach might alienate people....
and it did.
I've been in Seattle since 1989 and there have been illegal aliens gathering in certain spots looking for work FOR YEARS......
I've picked up a few for boss.......
picking up a couple of illegals to do heavier stuff always been an option.....
and...
depending on the job...
pay is 12-15 bucks an hour...
maybe ten bucks an hour for yardwork....
We aren't exploiting anybody...
and it is not a matter of getting it done on the "cheap".
but it has got to get done.....
Better a couple of twenty something Mexican guys wielding concrete cutter and sledgehammers.
I am getting too old for that kind of stuff...
particularly when the concrete is about a foot thick:):)
Seattle even supports Organization that is resource for illegals...
http://www.casa-latina.org/
so I don't know where they get this idea that they are oppressed in U.S.
They more oppressed in Mexico...apparently.
But now that I have thought of it.....
and I will have to research......
sounds like the Latino versions of Al Sharpton shot off big mouths.
I am against "amnesty".

I have to agree with RekT, Illegal is Illegal, my grandparents came through Ellis Island after getting permission to enter the country, than got jobs worked learned the language, became citizens and made a better place for their children, by the way their American born son served with the 101st Airborne in WWII and yes your right I am proud of my heritage but I am an American first last and always....And yes a lot of us are tired of people coming into the country and wanting things to stay the same as they were in their homeland IE: language, customs etc. If we continue to allow the illegal population to grow at it's current rate we will come to a point where our country will no longer be able to sustain it's self. Why can't we do like Mexico and require that they be able to support themselves and families before we let them stay here....

The problem is not merely the number of illegal immigrants. In addition to the hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants from Central and South America, there are several hundreds, perhaps thousands, of illegal aliens from countries that sponsor terrorism or harbor terrorists entering the United States each year across our border with Mexico. Thus, it is a national security issue as well as an immigration issue.

We need to limit the number of people who come to this country or else everything that is good about this country will fade.
There are tens (or possibly even hundreds) of millions of people in the world who would like to come here. Even the most ardent open border person can understand that to double our population here would lead to lots of problems that we would never be able to overcome. pollution, high housing costs, gasoline shortages, poor drinking water supplies, etc would all be a daily fact of life and our standard of living would drop dramatically.
When more people immigrate beyond what has been proven that we can assimilate and take in without negatively effecting every Americans life we get upset. It doesn't matter where they are from but it does matter that they treat us, our laws, our country and our culture with respect. When they violate those things we get upset.
There just isn't enough room here for everyone who wants to come here - sorry someone is going to be left out.

Becca9892003, I think you are way off and you don't have a clue as to what you are talking about. I am not jealous that people are coming here to better themselves; in fact, that is part of what makes the United States what it is and why it is so appealing. I do not mind that people come here because our diversity of cultures is what makes us great as well. I do not mind if people choose to come to this country and I welcome them with open arms. That being said, I want them to come here legally! Go through the normal channels and the immigration process as many of my Hispanic friends chose to do before coming to the United States. At least pay your taxes and contribute to society rather than mooching off of everyone else. I was listening to a debate on the radio and a caller from California was bragging about how he was an illegal and that he made at least $60,000 a year tax free in construction. All he could say was thanks for the free ride! Come to this country and be ready to contribute rather than bragging about how much you can get for free while riding on the tax payer's back. Again I do not mind if people decide to come here, but at the very least come here legally.

No, you totally miss the point. They are coming here and stealing jobs, stealing medical, and stealing money from the welfare and social security offices...they are causing the rents to skyrocket, as they will move in about ten at a time, pay cash, and the slumlords won't have to put out a dime on the property, knowing that they're illegals and there is nothing they can do about it. They are taking construction jobs,..government jobs, all the hospital jobs, resturaunt jobs, and would be taking fishing jobs, had it not been for the Coast Guard and homeland security strict rules...How dare you say it is the American Way, they HATE Americans..so go home all of you and respect our laws, and do it RIGHT...and I have to laugh at the lie about produce becoming cheap, it is higher than it ever has been...

Because it's illegal. And unlike my great grandparents who went to ellis island and became Americans, they snuck into my country, work jobs for less than anyone else could afford and then hold a parade in California to whine they are not getting benefits of Americans. I want them to do the paper work and become Americans, get a green card, or go home. That's it. I am sick of it being thrown in my face.
