Just so you know it, I am a legal resident on a work permit here in the US. And I really find this question ummm stupid. Really have you looked into these states economies to find out if they are really looking for workers or need workers.

Also no country cant create an open check for their borders (well it is happening now with illegals), yes they can bring about lower cost for business, lower wages but too much immigration can create shortages.

Shortages in space for rent can send prices soaring, more people means you need to make sure there is adequate water supply. Hell a state like MD for a base realignment for a couple thousand people have to expand school systems, water supplies, road networks, commuter network and various other Issues to meet such changes.

So you cant really have it unless these people are sending in advance paychecks to help develop these extra expenses.

And that realignment i mention was for 40,000 people imagine the cost for 1m people.........imagine the amount of school children you will have to support alone on that. Muchless hoping they have a job; also taking in workers for one state wont mean they will continue to remain in lower populated states only what happens when 50% chose to more crowded states instead.

Everything you just asked must be looked at logically, One Country cant be taking up the burden based on empty land, if your assumption is based on that alone then Canada should be taking the Bulk of people, along with Russia and the Sahara Desert areas of Africa is very spacious last time i checked. spacious doesnt always mean better.

Well I would like to answer your question! It's the illegals we have a problem with. They come to the busiest towns and look for work. Where I live we have little to no jobs left. I know because My son-in-law and I have been like for a job for more than 4 months.( we were layed off from our jobs in which they hired Hispanics in our place). It the fact that the use fake I.D and get jobs and welfare that people like my son-in-law paid taxes to be able to use.( welfare) Now that is layed off with no money other than a small drawing check. He was told no when he tried to get help to feed his kids. Reason 2 we were hit in the rear of our car by an illegal person who have no insurance and no proof of who he was, he got a ticket and drove his car home. We had a totaled car and 10,000 DOLLARS in hospital and doctor bill. Now that's 2 reason I say NO more. Let's go on in the town I live in we have not ever had gang problems until now. Most of the gangs are mostly Hispanics( most no all) and they just killed a 16 year old boy that had stop at a store. With out warning the hit him in the hit and shot him in the chest killing him. He was a well like young man, hope to play football in collage. I could go on and on but I hope you get my point. Most ( not all) will not obey the laws of this land. Do you really want this to keep going on and even get worst Think about what I have said and ask you self what if that was your child, your car, your 10,000 dollars you worked hard to get, then what would you think. ( all these thing were done by illegals) I have no problem with anyone coming legal and becaming a good American.

Nope. Look what happen in Florida, a woman refused to unveil her face for an identification card. It is within our laws that your full face is shown. However, because it was against her religion she refused to show her face. She was allowed to do this.

If anyone wants to come to American, they need to go the legal way about things. Follow the laws.

If not, they can stay put.

However, I do understand where it is you are coming from. Good hearted people are hard to come by. You need to look at what will happen if that were to happen. The illegles that cross the line from Mexico come here because it is a better place,

Your question reflects exactly the lack of understanding of the issue that our politicians must share.
Most countries control immigration into their countries.
The issue isn't how many people we have room for. It's who we let into the country.
Educated? Have an employable skill? able to pass a background check? Come on in!

Looking for welfare, free medical care, thug, gang member, crimminal with a past, terrorist? Not welcome.

America is a country of laws where people work for what they have. We are not against immigration. We are against illegal immigration.

We are also not the worlds welfare check.

There is far more land in the deserts of northern Mexico than there is in the US. Why can't the Mexican government support them? Why do we have to support everyone?

We became the richest nation in the world by using our resources wisely and allowing the free market system to thrive. In the last 30 years or so we have been slowly taken over by people like you that think socialism is the best way to go and they want to give everyone anything they want.

There's plenty of empty space, but plenty of resources and infrastructure. If immigrants brought with them the capital to develop the infrastructure they'd need, for instance, that might be valid - but that's not what happens. Immigrants typically bring only thier own labor potential, and it takes time to translate that into infrastructure, and capital to support it and maximize it's efficiency. Thus, immigrants cannot be accepted into the country just because there's enough empty space for them to stand in some desert region.

I agree that US Immigration policies are too restrictive but I have problems with your argument. First of all, those countries do have problems, but it's certainly not due to overcrowding. You think Russia is crowded? Do you know what the population density of Siberia is? Like 1 person per thousand square miles.
Also, the issue in the US isn't room- it's xenophobia- people are scared of other people who are different, and their also scared of their way of life changing. It's also about resources- schools and emergency rooms aren't adequate for our current population.

There isn't plenty of money to support them! They also don't go into places where there is plenty of room.

They like places like LA. It's so crowded and traffic is a disaster! That's one thing that was nice when they protested on May 1st. The freeways were much better!

We need to think about our own right now. We have children sleeping on the streets,do you really think we should just let people in who can use our social system while we aren't even taking care of our people?

You want to throw those people out in the desert, where there are no schools or resources? Just because ther eis land doesnt mean its liveable. Also- what about the environment? Everyone seems to be in favor of protecting our natural environment, what you are proposing would destroy it with sprawl and would extinct a lot of different species. Lasty- we're already in a water crisis- how would you get all the needed water out there? You're just proposing a lot of dead bodies in the desert witha plan like this.
