Immigration - June 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Immigration

I came across this on YouTube, some guy with a camera walked around a street in L.A. and claims that the city used to be a glorious and beautiful place, but now it's turned into a third world like community. Some ppl agree, some do not.

What do you think?

In 1980, I took a bus from San Diego to Indio to visit my parents. Along the way, the bus was pulled over and boarded by men in black uniforms. One of them walked slowly down the aisle, eyeing us all. Then he stopped in front of one man and demanded to see his papers. Fortunately, it wasn't me because I didn't have any papers with me. Since then I have been adamantly against all immigration restrictions. My God-given rights should not be dependent on "papers." I will not be subject to men in black uniforms.

Any details about the work would also be appreciated. I'm hoping to hear from at least some people who actually know this information. No hate messages on either side of the issue, please.

I know I will. I will not vote for any candidate pretending the illegals crimes (felonies like using false identification and not paying federal withholding taxes) are nothing, as Americans go to jail for the same, and for supporting " a pathway to citizenship." They pretend this pathway is needed to enforce the laws we already have. This is so deceitful. The American middle class is truly "in the shadows", as the politicians supporting the immigration bill sell us out to political contributions. How could they sacrifice our country and respect for laws for money and mexican votes?

So you question the existing of Mexicans, you call them trashy, beaners, wetbacks. (just to name a few) You oppose the birth of their children. You hate it when they speak their native language. You suggest they should be shot when crossing the border. By any chance….Is Hitler leading the anti-immigration movement?

Either you stop it or accept the label.

Ive been reading to a bunch of comments regarding immigration issues lately. Most of them are actually from the same people, so if I get any answers Im expecting it to be from them. It is healthy to have different points of view taken into account, but from what Ive read ive come to this conclusion: There is really a lot of intolerance (I DIDNT SAY RACISM) shown in most answers. Those whith a pro-illegal commentary get thumbs down, and those against illegal SOMETIMES answer without any appeal to human dignity or rights (not to be confused with american dignity or rights)

Of course I am not american, and please avoid calling me a beaner or a wet back and asking me to go to my stinky country because Im already in it. I am not, have never been and have no inmediate intentions of becomming a resident there. I just wonder how an educated society that rubs words like freedom and liberty in the face of humanity has become an intolerant egocentric society

Even after the clear and convincing victory, there still seems to be some delusional illegal supporters that there is some hope for the hopless. No mathmatical calculation or political scheem could ever work out a amnesty of any kind. What on earth are they thinking?

They're both bad, but I think exporting a job to China is even worse since Chinese workers in China spend nearly $0 on American imports but illegals here in America spend a substantial portion of their wages here.

Having the floor drop out from under the feet of the illegals and there ethnocentric pimps, It looks like the end of any hope . The people have spoken loudly , the real people in charge of this country. So much so that we melted the senates phone system.

My guess is the poor hudled masses of mexicans will be packing up what little they have stolen and begin jambing into dirty busses for the long arduous trip back to the hell hole they came.

Are you aware that bill that was defeated again killed a long list of enforcement remedies to enforce ourborders such as $4.4 billion for patrols, barriers, cameras etc.

Gone, too, is a plan for the first smart, effective way for employers to verify if workers are legal, as well as stiff criminal penalties for businesses that break the law.

And guess what guys the 12-20 million people are still hear.

I don't get it, people tell the mexican immigrants to leave the USA, when their european decendants pushed them down there anyway, and know they celebrate that they can't return to their homeland because of bill that didn't pass. I've hear of Hypocrites, but this just takes it to a whole new level of just plain stupidity and racism.

Everyone wins right? No, imigration bill = no amnesty, everyone should rejoice right? There were so many critics of that bill, it was so terrible, so many flaws, it would lead to so many negative consequences everyone said. Well I went to my local 7-eleven yesterday, and I noticed a young hispanic woman struggling with two small toddlers, a young baby (maybe 6-9 months old) and looked very pregnant. I offered to help her (in spanish) to carry the milk and eggs she came for, she thanked me several times as i put them in front of the cashier. As I walked out I mentioned I don't know how she does it walking to a convenience store with so many little ones. Well the nice woman explained to me all the kids were hers, all 9months apart in age, and that her children would take good care of her in the future since they are citizens. I was thinking isn't this a form of amnesty? What now? What is your comprehensive immigration plan? How would you change things if you had full control?

I always hear the pro-illegal bunch saying things like "it is not rational to think that we can deport 12 million undocumented immigrants". Well, that is what they want us to think. They want us to just believe that it's impossible to deport them. But it's not! It's not impossible at all. It will cost far less than the cost of having the illegals here. We can send a man to the moon. To say we can't deport people who are in our country illegally is nonsense. Sure it will take some time, but over the next few years we can really make some progress, IF we get started right away. The problem is we need politicians in power who have the will to get it done. Make your voice heard!

WAS IMMIGRATION BILL A DEMOCRATIC TRAP? -by Dick Morris

Did fifteen Democrats vote to kill the immigration bill to assure its defeat and guarantee that the Latino vote would go Democrat in the 2008 election?

Was it a set up all along? Did the Dems lure Bush into a compromise knowing that the GOP base would go ballistic and inflict a high profile defeat on the president sure to cripple his presidency and give the Hispanics a well publicized slap-in-the-face courtesy of the GOP?

Only my appreciation of the lack of strategic intellect in the Democratic Party inhibits me from saying yes to all these questions. But I still wonder?

The Home Depot is tired of being forced by local governments to accommodate the day laborers who turn up in its store parking lots seeking construction work. So the Georgia-based company turned to Congress for help.

I think it is insane that we try and appease criminals at all.

Every one of these poor hard working looking for a better life illegals is STEALING a job from an American.

The Americans that hire them, I just can't think of enough BAD things to say to these traitors, they would have been marched to the gallows years back.

First of all, the mexicans who come into this country are usually illegal immigrants. Notice the word "illegal". We all were immigrants at some point or had great great families that were immigrants but we came into the u.s. LEGALLY. some of us were brought into this country because we had no choice because of war and slaughtering of millions of people. So why does the hispanic community always use that saying.. that we all were immigrants too so why not give us a chance? well yeah we would if you would wait in line like the rest of the world is and do it legally and actually try to learn english and adapt to our culture. If you can picture a scene where we are at the movie theatres and the theatres represent the u.s and you see a crowd of people waiting in line to go watch it.. (them being immigrants waiting in line legally), and then you see hispanics cutting in line and making it even harder for immigrants to get in. Then when they finally get to the front they are denied.

LOGAN, Utah - A 76-year-old woman has been barred from the bus station after giving unwanted birth-control advice to mothers with large families. "I think it's wrong. It's a violation of my First Amendment rights," Laura Stevens said.

She was arrested Tuesday for trespassing, a misdemeanor, according to police records.

"She's been making comments to some of the Hispanic passengers that they should be on the pill, that they're taking over our society," said Todd Beutler, general manager of the Cache Valley Transit District.

You are arrested for a non felony (which entering the US without documents is)
The judge fined you $6000, and puts you on 7 years supervised probation.
Are you going to run out of the court house yelling "yaooooo..the judge gave me amnisty" ?
I'll answer for you right wing bigots..NO, you would not
Now see how silly you sound when you call imagration reform amnisty ?

Mexicans or Mexican-Americans don't want the Southwest back to Mexico! and they don't want Whites out of Aztlan!

Those who believe that... are non-white Jews who fear Aztlan and Chicano-Mexican Nationalism!
Mi question is...... Why?????

Last year was my first year at a new college. I made lots of wonderful new friends, many of whom are hispanic. Later I came to learn from three of them that their parents, or at least one of their parents are not legal citizens. One of my friends said that her mother ran across the border while pregnant with her, she was born in America and is now a citizen. Similar stories with the other two. I don't support people entering other countries illegally, but these girls are my friends now and so obviously I don't want to report their parents and start a lot of drama. It is kind of an awkward situation for me though because obviously they strongly support illegal immigrants and they participated in the protest called "No Borders" and all the while I'm trying to bite my tongue and not start an arguement. How would you folks behave in a situation such as this?

Remember those who voted for the bill and vote them out off office.
Demand tougher legislation on the guest worker program. Demand a crack down and overhaul of the corrupt on the H1b worker program.
Demand tougher penalties for businesses that hire illegals. Demand that our boarders be guarded like they should be in the first place.
Demand an end to outsourcing.
Down with Aztlan!
