After just a few months in office, President Bush was suddenly faced with the worst ever attack on our soil. For a few weeks everyone in the country was united with him. Then the opponents of Bush began to pick up their negative campaign against him. I'm wondering what they would have done different in the wake of the attack.

Prescott Bush, was a director & shareholder of companies that profited from involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany. Factual info exists from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism. His business dealings, which continued until his company's assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz . New documents, declassified last year, show that even after the US had entered the war & when there was already significant information about the Nazis' plans & policies, he worked for & profited from companies closely involved with the very German businesses . Grandson Bush is facing a different kind of scrutiny but one underpinned by the same perception that, for some, WAR is very BIG business !

why is it that the death of 10.5 million children worldwide suddenly become interesting & a matter of concern when a celebrity is involved in the "advertisement"? Shouldn't such an issue be a concern to all just out of compassion anyway? Like, when all these celebrities like angelina or lucy lui, suddenly trot to the UN to become goodwill amb. is it because they really care to make a difference or is it for the extra publicity whereby everyone goes like "oh my god, she is so sweet, compassionate, kind-hearted & caring cause she does this & that for all these kids & people"? when jolie or madonna go off adopting all those kids and showing them off to the media (claiming oops, i didnt want to but they caught me!) do they adopt them because they really care to make a change or because its the newest trend, the coolest act of the season? 100s of qualified people work their fingers to the bone but when a celebrity jumps into the picture, the media & people suddenly become v.interested. WHY?

If it truly was a war on terror than we would be fighting in every country all over the world. Wherever there are people there is terror. We'd even have to fight in our own country. Why don't people understand this?

He was giving a talk in Totnes, Devon last evening. He conveyed his experiece with us, and told how he was the "only" witness to give evidence to the 9/11 comission "behind closed doors"
No press or cameras were allowed. He told us he was in level "B2" (basement) when there was an extremely violent explosion from a lower basement level. (before the aircraft hit the building) He told the comission that there were a further 22 witnesses that could confirm this. The comission refused to allow them to give evidence, and their final report completely ignore his evidence.

My question is WHY?

How many times have you heard someone talk about SS benefits and it not being around when we reach our "Golden Years"? Iv'e come up with a few thoughts towards our future and that of our SS benefits. Say you are not married, no family, or anything of that nature, and you pass on prior to your benefits being able to be used. Where does that money go? With that thought in mind, why doesn't our Government allows us an option to take care of our own future with our money. One idea was, what would be the big deal if we were able to take a portion of our Social Security each year and invest it on our own. We all get a statement of what our benefits will be when we are ready to retire, seeing how it is our money, we should be able to fill out a form and say, Id like to take "X" amount of % from my SS . You might be lessing your benefits from SS, but at least you have a chance to see your SS money closer to you and its security. Just a thought.

Have you seen the Headlines of what Bush is asking for as far as $$$$$$ for the war? He could have put that into rebuilding the Katrina towns and Cities. 2.9 TRILLION would go along way for our own country.

Just a thought - President Bush is ploughing millions and millions of dollars in Iraq to help rebuild lives etc. What about the victims of Hurricane Katrina and then the tornado that swept through central Florida last week. Doesn't charity begin at home. What about the American citizens that for almost two years now have been living in trailers and had their lives devastated. Isn't it time President Bush took care of his own people?
