why is it that the death of 10.5 million children worldwide suddenly become interesting & a matter of concern when a celebrity is involved in the "advertisement"? Shouldn't such an issue be a concern to all just out of compassion anyway? Like, when all these celebrities like angelina or lucy lui, suddenly trot to the UN to become goodwill amb. is it because they really care to make a difference or is it for the extra publicity whereby everyone goes like "oh my god, she is so sweet, compassionate, kind-hearted & caring cause she does this & that for all these kids & people"? when jolie or madonna go off adopting all those kids and showing them off to the media (claiming oops, i didnt want to but they caught me!) do they adopt them because they really care to make a change or because its the newest trend, the coolest act of the season? 100s of qualified people work their fingers to the bone but when a celebrity jumps into the picture, the media & people suddenly become v.interested. WHY?

The funny thing about celebrities is that they want some political body, i.e. the UN, to do all the real work. They'll be happy to fork over YOUR money to see that the world's children are taken care of. Every once in a while you have a celebrity that makes it a goal to personally take care of the problem, like Sally Struthers or Madonna, however, the latter only wanted to help 1 soul. I think the celebrities mean well, but since they make their fortunes by being liars, I do not trust them to make policy.

Honestly, does it matter? Interesting not really!
The Children are the only issue- we the people "know that".
If the Children are helped- who cares "whom" the media focuses on.

Actually, I don't mind if the money, supplies or aid and volunteers come to the rescue because of some "media circus".
More attention is on the celebrity and we can get our work done.

However, I do feel sad for the "media" life an adopted child will have under these situations. Yet the quality of life may make up for any of that OR even the chance to just live!

OH children, shmildren. I say why do they get all the special treatment? I care about adults, and children alike. I care about humans.
Yes, I wonder as well what there true intentions are behind adopting these children. Though I am happy for these children for they will have a better life whether Madonna, and Angelie did it for a publicity stunt or not. The world will be watching much to closely for these children to ever be neglected. So there publicity stunt will cost them a lifetime.
As for it being fair...of course not, but then again, what is?

I like the guy who answered he wasn't as pretty as Brad Pitt. Though short and simple, he is absolutely right. (well, he may be as pretty as Pitt, I don know) What I mean is they are beautiful, and that is Hollywood's and the rest of the country- world's favorite. Beauty gets you starring roles with great paychecks, and first in line for being a goodwill ambassador. Jealousy comes in and bashes out your window and steals your wallet :o)

Because America is pure! Its actions are pure and even its day dreaming is pure. And if you go by people's general reaction to us, the World agrees. American's are in the World considered the wisest, most agreeable, best looking, best movies, best horses and best woman. And then you have the Pepis Generation and the Free LOVE Generation, and we all know about the Free Love Generation, right?
THEY LOVE US IN THE WORLD!

I don't know but I believe if the efforts of the celebrities were really compassionate in nature, we would never hear about it. in other words, I think they like the publicity.

It is interesting that when someone becomes a celebrity, they magically become an expert on politics.
