Don't forget that the public voted in our leaders. Instead of blaming them, blame ourselves. If this nation is going to survive for future generations, people have to work together.

Television, print and now the internet has given those who control the flow of information the power to shape public opinion. Public Opinion is forcing the hands of our political leaders and as such unduly influencing the agenda of our ELECTED officials. Who elected the people who control these outlets. Certainly we don't want to give the government "control" of the media but how do we implement measures to ensure that the information the media disperses is done so in a manner that accurately reflects the view point of the population rather than, as it appears, the tail wagging the dog.

"The United States does not torture" "It's against our laws, and it's agaisnt our values. I have not authorized it-and will not authorize it."

These are the words of George W. Bush regarding the detention of terror suspects.

Before anyone says the torture is neccessary to protect us I have to ask,

There is proof without a doubt that the U.S. carries out torture and that President Bush is either authorizing it or turning a blind eye. Regardless the U.S. does carry out torture. So anyone outraged by this fact can't feel any better hearing Bush say these kind of things. So why not just admit to it, sicne there is proof?

So how do can we trust anything he says or does? This is a disgrace to the United States and will only bring trouble.

Are we fighting or inciting terror?

I know that Doctors do wonderful things for people that are from other Countries, they fly them here (including their families) and don't have to pay a dime, and these pepole are getting major surgery. Yet we pay throught the nose, and some people don't have Health Ins. because they cannot afford it. It just seems unfair. How do you feel?

Yeah, I am British and I have no clue about the Constitution.
I keep hearing it in some of my favourite American shows (Simpsons, family guy), and I haven't got a clue about it.
Things like the ammendments, Bill of Rights, that kind of stuff. If you could answer, I would be gratful.
Thankyou.
