yes, if i have to work two jobs just to be able to afford to reward myself with a couple of beers on a friday night. then every single penny that goes into a welfare reciepients hand should be accounted for. dont get me wrong, the system is a good idea for those who deserve it, but not as something you put down as a hobby on a job application.

I agree with your comment in theory, however I doubt we will ever see this happen.

I do get very upset and frustrated when I see and know of people who use drugs, and are on welfare or any kind of public assistance.

First, we should not have to support people who are doing drugs and are either too drugged up to work, or can't get a job because they can't pass a drug test.

Don't get me wrong, there are people out there who truly need a little boost and welfare can be a great program to get people back on their feet, and eventually back in the work force. But, for those who are doing drugs, it's not right for them to sit at home and collect money for being a drug addict.

No-it is bad enough that they are poor and need help they don't need to be humiliated too by being tested. Many people who receive help do not do drugs at all that is just a stupid stereotype.I don't think we should be drug tested for work either, why get a drug test to be a typist,a sales clerk,or many other positions. I do think drug testing is necessary for those who work with children, pilots,Doctor's and those who hold others lives in their hands.

Why not just keep everyone in a big prison where you can feel safe and keep an eye on them? Only America allows employers to do this so far, hopefully the UK and Europe will not lose our freedom to that extent. Anyone who thoughtlessly floats Orwellian concepts w/out considering the consequences doesn't need drug testing because they don't have enough imagination to have tried them or considered anything properly.

Sure, as long as all the corporate officers of companies receiving corporate welfare (tax breaks, subsidies, tariff protections, marketing assistance, etc.) get drug tested too. Besides, why shouldn't they be tested if they make their workers get tested?

Only politicians should be drug tested.

Any of them who fail a drug test should be locked up for the remainder of their term.

Yea test them, if they have enough money to buy drugs then they don't ever need any of my money. I see all kinds of trash abusing welfare.

You sound like a conservative on a full time crusade to upset the ACLU.

God, I love it, I only wish I had thought of it.

That is one great idea, pee in the cup and pick up the workers money. Oh yeah, heII of an idea.

BTW, it ain't got a snow balls chance...

Definately or they should get a job! Why should i work hard to keep my head above water and also pay taxes that then go to those who will spend it on drugs.
