People refer to it as "Bush's war" for different reasons, but I believe the predominant reason is because it happened "on his watch" as we would have said in the Navy, & as it has progressed too many folks have relied upon misinformation , personal bias, & being fashionably aligned to blame the war on President Bush.

Viet Nam was Johnson's war until he left office, & then it was Nixon's war..... The average American is very poorly informed & educated about how our government operates, let alone more advanced things like foreign policy.

I could be wrong, but I believe Bush acted in good faith based upon the intelligence info available to him. I don't believe as so many allege that he deliberately lied about Saddam having WMDs as an excuse to wage war. Or that Bush started the war to show his father how tough he is, or that we went over there to take their oil (we haven't taken a single barrel to date!)

President Bush is a committed American doing the best job he possibly can to do what he feels is in America's best interest , just as any other person would have done if they were unfortunate enough to have 9/11 happen on their watch, or have a leader defy UN edicts to allow inspectors access.

Anyone who seriously believes he enjoys sending our troops into harms way, or that he isn't saddened by the loss of American lives is blinded by the hatred they have built within themselves.

I am not a huge fan of Bush, I didn't vote for him in 2000. But he is not a stupid man, tho he is an easy target for derision due to his down home nature.

The Electoral College is another thing most have no understanding of, & some even think it was put in place just so Bush could benefit!! It's difficult to argue w someone who has no knowledge of American government & it's underlying principles tho.

Glad to hear your teacher is giving you a strong foundation . Never stop learning about how this country works, despite the lack of others w that hunger . Drop an email if I can answer any further, & forgive my wordiness...I'm passionate about Political Science

what do you mean Bushs war, as opposed to who's war?

he did fill the american public with lies in order to invade, told the UN inspectors to get out or get bombed before they finished their job...

As for saying its "his" war that is sort of true he did give the final order to go in, but in the end its the USA's war with Iraq.
