It seems that the original goal in Iraq was to rid the world of Sadam and weapons. Then it seems to have changed to help build a democracy and then to help build a stable government. So is the goal now to have stability in Iraq and then to leave? Or is our goal to fight terrorists and bring the battle to Iraq? If we want to promote stability is that realisitic with the Sunni's, Shiites and Kurds in seemingly bitter turmoil? If it is realistic to want to bring stability isn't this a decade plus long commitment?

Again this is probably a dumb question but I just don't have a clear grasp of the big picture and would like insight into it.

Why are some quarters so keen for Britain to become a Republic? Why is so much store set in 'Electing' a Head of State? To me, accident of birth (monarchy) seems the most truly democratic way of getting a HofS as none of us get a say in the matter whereas electing a HofS would involve someone other than me deciding which candidates could run. Also, looking at our electorial system for governments it is clear that whoever is elected rarely has an overwhelming majority. So Republicans, please explain the attraction but avoid reasons that only amount to social envy of the royal families wealth.

Who is in favour of the plans for Road Pricing in the UK. Every car to be monitored by sattelite and charged for distance driven depending on time of day etc. Presumably also charged for speeding and other offences the sattelite could detect. Is this not just a MASSIVE invasion of our privacy, the gov knowing exactly where we are at ALL times, disguised as green policy. The online petition is now up to 600,000 signatures but the gov insists it will continue with this policy. How scared should we be?

Could it be that they look at it as, if you're still making tons of mistakes after 3 1/2 years in combat... you're just not going to get it right irregardless of how many years you try?

I guess on the other hand you could take the easy way out to answering the question and say their libs now. Stupid...but easy!

The story will soon break on CNN just how involved Israel was in the 9/11 attack. The U.S. covered it up with a Commission report of lies and a fraudulent video of Bin Laden, and the Middle East wars have begun. Israel has created their own problems ever since they wrote scriptures proclaiming themselves to be god's chosen people. If it wasn't for the oil in that region, (and the Arabs know this) the U.S. would not have even cared if Israel became a state in 1948. This was done as a result of the Belfeur Declaration in 1919, but it wasn't until oil was discovered in the region that it actually happened (1948). Let Israel defend for their own pathetic selves.
