Other than Nixon getting caught up in some spying (which George is now doing free of charge) he was a good president and had brains. Please don't compare him to George Bush. It is an insult to Nixon.

Even though they are be compared they are vastly different. Nixon was a paranoid man who was always worried about what was going on to bring him down and because of that he brought himself down. Even though all the Watergate stuff tainted his Presidency Nixon was a brilliant man who formed the Foreign policy of the US for years. Every President after him consulted with him on foreign policy. Who do you think will call Bush and ask him anything?
Bush on the other hand is a victim of our times. With Watergate the way the media covered politics changed for ever. Pre Nixon a lot of things where just not reported. Post Nixon the media attacks with its own agenda. Not just the liberals but conservative also. Sad but the days of just the facts types reporting died in the 50's & 60's and Nixon was the first President to have to live under that micro scope. Bush and his people new going in and should have been prepaired for it.
The fact that the Bush administration is now just downing what it wants and it appears that the public disagrees is why is rating is so low. War is good for business but bad for people.

Because Bush is at about a 30% approval rating. Nixon was at 26% when he resigned. It's not the libs, it's his own party, the Republicans that are turning on him.
