Have you seen the Headlines of what Bush is asking for as far as $$$$$$ for the war? He could have put that into rebuilding the Katrina towns and Cities. 2.9 TRILLION would go along way for our own country.

Maybe I should have left it at helping our own not just Katrina-I used that as an exsample but our own health care and streets and fire departments sure could put that kind of money to use.
How about even making the stop smoking patches cheaper or free. They sure are making a big $ off that one since they want people to stop smoking. They've come out with ways to MAKE us do what they want. Technology, education, health. Everywhere here in our own country could use that.

shhhhhhhhh. Please, you may embarrass the Decider with this question. Americans voted for Bush, at least in 2004, so they are getting what they voted for I guess. So, Bush must figure that the people of New Orleans need to be punished for acting so defenseless against a little rain storm.
The fact that streets all over America are going to pot, police departments all over America are undermanned. The citizens of America are now so very very optimistic and have money in their pockets along with praise and support from people all over the World?
(By the way, do you remember the bad days of the Clinton Presidency when the budget was balanced and the police forces were manned by Clinton's commitment to hire police all over the Country?)
Oh well, we just do not need all the money that was lying around in peoples pockets. It is better to waste tax payers money on new equipment for Iraq and new Mental Health medication to keep our troops in Iraq on the job.
And , the people in America just could not vote for that terrible guy from Mass. named aaaaaaaaaaa, Terry. You know the one that is always insulting the troops, including himself. Who needs that careful decider who listens to other people.
Gore also would have been a disaster as President, he probably would have spent money on the Global Warming Crisis, what a fool. Again the people showed such good insight into the future and rejected this Gore guy whoever he is.
Go Republics!

The war will not come to the U.S. totally impossible, terrorist yes if nothing is done but things are being done, the terrorist have no way to invade. only short range missiles, no boats , short range aircraft. if they even thought about it before they got there feet off their homeland the U.S. would blow them out of the water...so spending more money on a police action, which it is, not a war, is flat out stupid, the dingaling in the white house can't even take care of his own people right here in his own yard, let alone fight anywhere..

No city in the history of this nation has received that much aide, and I don't see why New Orleans should be any different. We've already given them an unprecidented amount, nevermind what the American People have given out of their pockets and daily lives to help those people.
But if the democrats don't want it done, BLOCK IT! But they don't have the spine to do it because they know that leaving our troops in a lurch will hurt them politically... Ah... What a twisted web we weave, when we practice to deceive...

LOLOLOL you got it! And you'll never see that kind of money going to help regular people in the US. They would just rather have everyone get upset and blame problems on people on welfare or the "rising cost of medicare" and propose ridiculous budgets for the "war on terror" and "fighting terrorists."

Yep. My sentiments exactly. Imagine what the trillions would of - could've done for the U.S., not that it would have been spent so wisely without the war. Very sad.

War costs money.
Poor, or dead.
Pick one.
I'd rather not be dodging bullets, bombs, and planes thank you.
The troops need the financial support to be able to fight the war there, instead of it coming to the U.S like on 9/11.
