Had nothing to do with Democracy. Had to do with the Republic.
I believe it was revolutionary. So many things were changed. It changed France from a total monarchy to a limited monarchy. I just took a test on the french revolution today and got an A.

The French Revolution was a very large revolt against the royal rich by the working/merchant class ( the bourgoisie ) and peasants. It forced an elective body to give greater representation to those groups, who then passed legislation. It was very much based on the American Revolution. When Louis the 16th refused to recognize it, the angry mob killed him. It later came under the control of military leader Napoleon Bonaparte, who himself instituted a slew of changes and improvements , including the legal system ours has some real basis on.
