If it truly was a war on terror than we would be fighting in every country all over the world. Wherever there are people there is terror. We'd even have to fight in our own country. Why don't people understand this?

We do have the fight in our own country. It's just overlooked because we're winning it, and the media refuses to give the administration the credit it deserves for it.

Being involved in a war has historically raised the approval ratings and popularity of Presidents. The name "War On Terror" has everything going for it. It says we're in a war (good for Bush) and it says we should be afraid. When we're at war we tend to believe whoever seems to be in charge.

The problem is the war that's actually happening in Iraq has nothing to do with terrorism. At this point it's a big mess to be cleaned up. No one ever embarked on a war on the actual terrorists- at least not for long. Why? You can't win a traditional war against non-traditional opponents. We should know that. We teach our school children about how the Revolutionary soldiers hid in the bushes from the British in their brilliant scarlet coats and ambushed them.

Once they realized it would be hard to find the terrorists, must lest catch them, the Bush govt distracted the US citizenry by starting a war in Iraq- a war Bush was itching to start anyway.

Despite the fact that it's been demonstrated- and the Bush people have admited- there were never any weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and there was never any alliance between Iraq and Al Quaida, there are a lot of US citizens who still believe in those things.

That's not to say terrorists are nothing to worry about- they ARE something to be concerned about. The thing is, the government doesn't seem to have a clue what to do about it except divert attention.

We are fighting in every country that harbors or supports terror. We may not be in those countries physically, but we are hunting down terrorist organizations and funders. As for fighting in our own country...what do you think the wire taps were for? The government was not listening to phone calls of random Americans, they were listening to phone calls of suspected terrorists. There are many sleeper cells in this country including members of Hezbollah and Al Quada and they are all plotting the next attack. Any one who doubts there commitment to ending life in America as we know it is a fool. You will not hear about the advances made at home on the war on terror just as you do not hear the good news and advances made abroad. Why? Because the liberal news media does not further their cause of Bush bashing and hatred by spreading the success over the airwaves. You can bet that if this had been any other president than MY PRESIDENT, he would be lauded and congratulated for freeing so many oppressed and abused people. Since it is a President that so many people despise, you will not hear anything positive.

It is a war on terror, I support it fully as I support my Commander in Chief, the Military, and all of the Military Families. If you doubt the terrorists agenda and ideology, feel free to go to the middle east and stand in front of our military (not behind them) and try to negotiate with them!

I know that W. speaks very slowly, but you have to get your ADD mind around this. We ARE fighting in just about every country. W. said some battles you would be aware of and some you would never know about. Let's cover the ones we are aware of. Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Libya, Palestine and the U.S. Here are a few that you may not be aware of, Pakistan, Syria, Iran, Saudi Arabia, North Korea, China, Russia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Ukraine, Yugoslavia,Tanzaniza, Ethiopia, Sudan, Colombia, Peru, Venezuela and Chile. Pretty much "the globe".Those last ones are concealed from people like you every night on the evening news. You have to live outside of the Daily Kos, or whatever liberal blog you worship and open your eyes and ears to everyday information found on such stealthy mediums as Fox, ABC, CBS, NBC, NPR, NY Times, Washington Post, LA Times, BBC and The Herald. Oh, one other thing that you've hidden from yourself, the "war on terror" is going to take a really long time. I realize that waiting 30 minutes for a pizza is too long for you, but it's just a fact you are going to have to deal with.

Because you are not fighting any country or government in the places you INVADED... so you have to call it something. Since the poor people have to resolve to guerrila style terrorism tactics... terrror is as good as any other for the fox network watching americans.

The war on terror is a hoax! walk outside and you'll find you're more likely to find an illegal alien than a terrorist. And true, we would be fighting "global terrorism" not iraqi's that support the attacks on our troops there!

You are correct. Its just called a war to make the problem look more serious than it really is. And the word war is used to terrify people into allowing the government do what ever it wants with out recourse.

Its called Fear Mongering. The war on terror is an inference to 9-11 to draw support for his policy.

Public Relations tactic.

The U.S. has always traditionally ignored those countries who don't have something it wants.

Besides, it gives airport security teams the chance to pull little four year old girls out of the line and "search" them without mommy and daddy even being in the room...something even police aren't allowed to do anymore.
