Now that the race for presidency for the dems includes Hilary don't you think that Edwards wants to discredit her with the Clinton's administration and mishandling of Iraq before the war.

Bill also knew there were WMD's in Iraq. He had the same CIA director. The only thing is, Bill turned his back on the info. John Edwards relied on this intelligence to vote for the Iraq war. Since we found no WMD's yet, he now blames this on Bush. LOL, it's funny how Bush gets blamed for just about everything.

Bill and Hillary and others in the Clinton administration are on record talking about the danger of Iraqi WMD's long before the Iraq war.

Somehow you got it backwards.
From the transcript that is linked below:

EDWARDS: "Well, here`s -- what I honestly think is that Bush, the administration, members of his administration, grossly misled the country, I think made an effort to mislead members of Congress.

But I think the other truth is, and I believe this very strongly, Chris, those of us who voted for this war -- and as you know, I`ve now said my vote was a mistake. Those of us who voted for this war, we had our own responsibility and we need to take responsibility for what it is we did.

Speaking for myself, you know, I was on the Intelligence Committee, I went to many hours of hearings and briefings, I talked to member -- former members of the Clinton administration and I made a judgment and it turns out that judgment was wrong.

Well, I`m responsible for that, but Bush and the administration are responsible for misleading the country, and making -- and just being absolutely incompetent in the way they`ve administered this war. "

Not once did he say that the Clinton administration convince him of it.

Edwards voted for the Iraq resolution in 2002.

The Clinton administration left office in 2001.

You have it mixed up. Edwards claims that if he had known the undistorted facts at the time he voted rather than those presented by the Bush administration, he wouldn't have voted for it.

I just read the rest of the replies after me. Are most of you morons? One poster even posted the exact Edwards quote this question referred to, and as I and that poster stated, his quote said nothing about blaming the Clinton administration.

Boy, it's no wonder Bush got elected twice.

What is all this blame stuff? Not for nothing but Saddam had WMDs. He used them against the Shi'a and he used them against the Kurds. Clinton knew it; Albright knew it; Cohen knew it; Berger knew it; THEY ALL KNEW IT. So they can't find the stuff now. Either it's hidden in another country (syria, Iran) or it's buried deep in Iraq, BUT HE HAD THEM. Any left-wing twit who thinks otherwise is just plain wrong.
