Just a thought - President Bush is ploughing millions and millions of dollars in Iraq to help rebuild lives etc. What about the victims of Hurricane Katrina and then the tornado that swept through central Florida last week. Doesn't charity begin at home. What about the American citizens that for almost two years now have been living in trailers and had their lives devastated. Isn't it time President Bush took care of his own people?

New Orleans has gotten billions of dollars in aid.

BTW - the reason those people are still living in FEMA trailers is because it is free!

these katrina victims from new orleans have received so much money that YOU do not know about. so many programs have been initiated for these people to help them get back on their feet. Its almost ridiculous what my taxes have paid for. Trust me when i say that their lives now are a complete upgrade from pre-Katrina. I deal with Katrina victims everyday and have been since september 2005. They abused and used their money friviously and then sued FEMA because they didnt provide enough. Dont let the media fool you.....these people have recieved three times their 2005 income in FEMA government assistance.

To see exactly what i am talking about, read my response to a question about Katrina aid and how these people abuse the system. the government has bent backwards for these guys but yet, their efforts are overlooked...

No doubt that Katrina was a terrible disaster and lives were shattered, but those people have been indoctrinated with an entitlement mentality; they are sitting there waiting for the gov't to do something and it ain't gonna happen. Be realistic. The gov't can only do so much. Many of them received gov't checks, do you think they used them wisely? There comes a point where we must all assume some personal responsibility. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but it's the truth.

I totally agree! Wish our president was as passionate about taking care of his own people instead of persuing his own/his administrations political agenda. Sad, that he's forgotten about the Katrina survivors. It hard to believe its been about 2 years that these Katrina surviors are still trying to survive with no help from this goverment..... whats happened to our goverment, isn't that their job, to help its people?

I guess Pres. Bush and his Administration hold their political agenda (or personal - however you feel about it) higher than the welfare of the American people in need of assistance.

I wonder why people in Mississippi have rebuilt and have started moving on with their lives, and the people in New Orleans get sooooo much more attention, yet can't do the same.

People have poured money in, and it gets used, sometimes positively, other times frivolously.

living in a free fema trailer is an upgrade to some of the Katrina "victims".had their lives devastated? they themselves have devastated their own lives through drug and alcohol abuse and dependency.NOBODY pays my way-quit milking the welfare system and dependence on the government to allow you to live your criminal, miserable, dope and alcohol induced coma that you call "lives".

Because most of the Katrina "victims" are bilking the system already.

Isnt it ironic? Think of it this way. Regardless if you are for the Iraq war or against it think of this. Our tax money is being used to build Mosques in Iraq. Yet here in America our tax money cant be used for anything at all with religious ties. We cant use tax money in America to build a church, yet we send our tax money to Iraq to build them new mosques and new islamic based schools.

EDIT:
I get thumbs down? I guess people dont want to hear the truth. Its true. Who do you think are paying to replace those mosques in Iraq that get blowed up? WE ARE.
