Dem Congress 11%

Bush 29%

Seems the public hates the Dems in congress even more than they hate Bush!

Now, before you go labeling me, I'm chastising both sides of the aisle, as an INDEPENDENT. (not to mention that come next Sep/Nov, it'll be my vote you're after)

Legislation being pushed in Congress has historical precendence in costing the lives of tens of thousands: civilian and military. In the interest of proving they are "doing something," these politicians are going to get people killed. Regardless of your party, take a look at the historical results and demand that your party set aside partisan politics and vote for the national interests, national security and protection of civilians and troops.

Walking down a road going hunting, if a dog comes out across the road, teeth bared and growling, do you have the right to use a gun to kill the dog? Do you have to wait until it bites you?
We're not talking about a mere pet, but german shepherds that are incredibly menacing.

No rude answers- reading her idea.. it's going to make insurance Affordable, Availble, and Reliable.
Health Insurance is unbelievely expensive, it is outragous- she wants to make sure that no one has to pay more than a limited percentage of their income for Health Insurance
She wants to make it availble.. because as it stands right now.. if you have had cancer or you have dwarfism or something else an insurance company can turn you down for a pre-existing condition..how is that fair.. she wants to make it so that they can not turn you down for a pre-existing condition...
Also if you get laid off, and you like your healthcare coverage you can keep it, without paying the massive price of Cobra...

Right now I don't see anything wrong with her Health Care plan...but was wondering what other people see wrong with it.. so maybe I'll look at it differently other than something that seems great for Americans
Basicly it seems to me like affordable private insurance

Invading a country that had nothing to do with 9/11 to fight terrrosim, but fails to secure our borders and ports -even tries to sell Port Security to the UAB (where two of the hijackers were from). Continually cuts funding to Homeland Security and State and local Police agencies (the people who have actually stopped terrorist attacks). And Billions per month in YOUR tax dollar are going to Iraq via Halliburten and Blackwater and going to Build the largest most elaborate US embassy in the world in Bahgdad.(ya think this means were staying?)
Greenspan even says the war was for Oil, as many are FINALLY starting to realize.
Greenspan and Bernake are also seeing inflation and the increasing possiblity of a Depression looming due to this Administration mismanaging of our economy, Greenspan goes so far as to say the Euro will replace the Dollar as preferred currency due to the Dollar losing up to 50% of its value.

It is my understanding our government has covered up the total deaths in Iraq. First not allowing reporters in to count only getting info from former military personnel brave enough to expose them. I just wonder how many American lives are not being counted.

Knowing this how can people continue to support Hitler and his murderous take over of Iraq.

Don't tell me terrorist or WMD both left the country in the year between the WTC and us invading.

Many blame liberals for nanny state laws but I see the most draconian laws coming from the current right wing govt. Is it possible they are two sides of the same coin. The US is slowly becoming a police state.

I am wondering if it is legal to find out how much the teachers and administrators received in salaries from the public school systems and have this published. This could help get raises for the underpaid and call for action against those overpayed.

or does it actually require FACTS?

For example, most cons FAITHFULLY believe in supply side economics in which tax cuts (mostly for the rich) lead to investment that slowly trickle down to everybody else leading to faster economic growth.

They believe this REGARDLESS of the facts.

Liberals, on the other hand, believe that by shifting taxes to those who can better afford it (the rich) and investing in the American people through education, job training, scientific research, and temporary safety nets, we can increase the size of the middle class which in turn will lead to better economic growth.

==================

ON WHOSE SIDE ARE THE FACTS WITH?

-Greenspan indicates that Bush has damaged the economy over the last 3 years by lowering taxes for only the wealthy.
-he notes the overspending in Iraq MUST stop
-he acknowledges that the US needs a "need" based health care system. quote (from interview on Democracy now aired on 9/18): "people like me, who have the means, will need to pay effectively a 100% co-pay for health insurance, whereas those less fortunate require more assistance".
-he says that the mortgage companies that had predatory lending/adjustable interest rates were committing "fraud" and should be criminally liable.

Now that we are in a full presidenal debates, I hear candidates bring up issues that meddle in the private lives of US Citizens. We have democrats trying to:
1) regulate what we eat by banning trans fats,
2) trying to reduce drinking
3) legislating where citizens can smoke (I actually agree with this)
4) California trying to regulate how you dicipline children
5) Universal Healthcare - taking away the right to choose your healthcare.
6) Regulating what we drive due to global warming issues

The list goes on. Isn't this an insult to the basics freedoms this country was founded on? What are the five most frightening words in the English language uttered by a politician: "something needs to be done!"

Does anyone agree with me here?

Democrat because they are lazy and looking for handouts too cons?

Your excuse for why black people vote Democrat is insulting. You say they vote Democrat because they are lazy, don't want to work, and are just looking for handouts.

In addition, you talk as if Democrats have fooled blacks into voting for them. OPEN YOUR EYES! Black people are PART of the Democratic Party. We got Obama running for president for example. They carry positions of power (that didn't require appointing) in the Democratic Party.

If you want to know why black people vote Democrat (along with the yankee north) and why southern whites neo-confederates vote Republican, start with the election of 1964.

HClinton announced a mandate yesterday requiring that every American has proof of Health Insurance when being interviewed for a job.

She said this is the only way to achie√e UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE but claims she will not force anyone into the healthcare system. (?????? yeah right...)

Why is this good, and WHY is it bad? And what does it mean for people, such as me, who has no health insurance now?
