A friend of mine was almost murdered last month, and the assailant was just apprehended. The district attorney is not sure whether he wants to file attempted murder charges due to the fact that the victim was apprehensive at first about naming his attacker due to fear.

My question is, can his friends and family persuade the DA to go ahead and file the charges by phone calls, emails, letters, etc? And what would we say to the D.A in these appeals for justice?

Close relatives of mine have encountered incredible problems in these last couple of years here in Florida, especially in last six months. It's made me wonder how many others are going through same thing probably in all parts of the USA. I am extra concerned because some of them are senior citizens, some have lost home to foreclosure and to apparent illegal practice by mortgage lenders, etc. Unfortunately one of them has almost being homeless, and is now facing problems w/ utility company. I myself have tried to help in any and all ways possible, encountering a lot of bureaucracy in every government agency I've gone to. The problems my relatives are experiencing may seem slight to anyone not familiar with such a situation, but to me, who am always close by, know it is exrtremely difficult for them in all aspects. I know how government agencies work. That even when social workers care and want to help, they just can't because their hands are tied up. Any groups for people like this?

ST. LOUIS, MO (2007-09-18) A man whose SUV went out of control and slammed into a restaurant's outdoor dining area in Clayton on Tuesday is an illegal immigrant from Mexico.

Three people were injured in the wreck at Il Vicino restaurant, at the corner of Central & Maryland.

Sergio Lopez told police he was blinded by the sun and lost control of his Ford Expedition.

Two of the injured were treated and released. A third is hospitalized in fair condition.

Lopez also had a minor injury. He was ticketed for driving without a license, no proof of insurance and making an improper turn.

Immigration Customs Enforcement also issued a federal detainment order on Lopez. He is to be held at the St. Louis County Justice Center upon his release from the hospital.

I see a lot of post on here saying how 9/11 was preventable and it was a joke becuase the terrorists used box cutters. That right there is the problem. people believe that something as simple as that cant have such devastating affects. Sometimes when you try to prevent against something you overlook the small things. In your personnal life you can safegaurd against bad things and take the normal steps to prevent it but if someone wants to harm you, it will happen and it isnt until after that you take drastic steps to prevent it again. People have this denial attitude that it wont happen to me and that is what happened on 9/11. We got caught with our pants down and hindsight is 20/20 now isnt it? The only ones to blame are the terrorists that perpetrated the crime not our own government.

Your thoughts?

About 4 weeks ago a friend of mine had an AOL convo and the person he was talkin to said they were gonna gove his IP adress to the police. Nothing happened to my buddy for 4weeks. But thursday afternoon, in front of his neighboors house their was an investigater from the PD. His neighboor asked the investigator why he was in front of his house and he said he couldn't tell (i'd assume thats normal). This raises the question to me, is this a coincidence or should he be worried. I don't know what to tell em. On one hand why would it take 4 weeks for this and why would teh investigator stay in the car for an online/computer type of issue and not come back the next day at a different time when he maybe home? But on the other hand there aren't too many bad happenings in his neighboorhood so maybe they are looking for him. What do you guys think?

From previous research, some citizens felt if they were prohibited from committing this act, it would be a violation of their "rights." Others, however, believed burning the U.S. flag is a demonstration of non-patriotism.

Based on your knowledge, how do you feel about this and more importantly, why?

So basically those who seem to you to be in it not just for the power and the ego trip?

I would nominate Dennis Skinner and Tony Benn of the UK and Bernard Kouchner, the current French Foreign Minister who is also a qualified medical doctor and former president of Medecins Sans Frontiers (Doctors Without Borders), an international humanitarian organisation.

And why cant socially conservative Republicans actually own up to the fact that their morally preaching is largely a compensatory deceptive hoax?

No guts to,perhaps? What else?

Larry Craig is gay. Instant Democrat, right?
Nope. He chose to live a lie, preaching against and legislating against who he realy was.

Comfortably nestled in the Republican Party.

Can YOU see that glaring a personal deception against a constituency with a Democrat? Anybody?

What is it about the outlandish moral claims the Republicans make that is so attractive TO fake moralists?

Wisdom? Moral Values? Personal Responsibility?
Nah.Fake morality,thats what.

And oh yeah, I almost forgot, Bill Clinton's a bad guy because he never preached against the kind of sex Democrats usually have...with girls!(oh the horror) LOL

I am tired of drivers flaunting the law and driving using their telephones. Can this type of evidence that captures the driver and also the car reg (in the case of video) be used to stop some of these people from putting the rest of our lives in danger. If so how would we go about it and if not - is there something else we can do?
