Yes cookies are fine, but keep in mind that it can take two weeks to get there and you dont want them getting bad or old. You can send almost anything to them... except porn and alcohol among other obvious things. I have six friends over there now and im sending another package out tomorrow with movies, music, baby wipes, and magazines. They love that kind of stuff... anything to pass the time... and home-made cookies are always enjoyed!

Of course you can send cookies! 19 year old boys love cookies!

I would be happy to assign you one of the LEAVES Heroes. We have quite a few deploying in the upcoming month. I would send you pictures and information on your Hero along with his address.

Just go to leavesmilitaryministry.org and click on "Become an Ally" .

Packages are optional for allies, but we will send a list of your Hero's favorite things should you like to send one. Our #1 request is Choc Chip Cookies (followed by Baby wipes and batteries)

Thank you for your interest in supporting our American Heroes. In the words of several of our Heroes, "Over there, mail is life."

Feel free to email me if you have any further questions.

Don't send chocolate right now, (it will melt) white socks tooth brushes baby wipes NO HAND SANITIZER magazines cds movies cookies candy (bags of candy are good because they normally give some to the kids) letters and cards gatorade mix granola bars cereal (some guys like to eat it dry) tampons (even if it is a guy) body wash shampoo tooth paste bath sponges twin sheets ( if he has a room) pillow silly string (bright colors) ( that may be hard to get through customes) deoderant shaving cream (that can be hard to get through customes also)

Technically you aren't supposed to send them anything homemade. They are advised against/told not to eat anything that didn't come from a sealed commercial package. But honestly, I send them all the time to my friends and significant other. (The guys really enjoy having something that doesn't come pre-packaged. It's a great reminder of home and all of the guys love sharing them with all their buddies.)

Oh, and when you pack them, the best way to keep them fresh is to buy small zipper sandwich bags and do a bunch of small bags filled with small amounts of stuff rather than a big bag of whatever you send. I usually send cookies and packing them this way keeps them fresh and keeps them packed close so they don't get broken and crumbly. And then, of course, bubble wrap.....layers of plastic bags......and/or those little bags of air.

Yes, you can send cookies. Just make sure that they do not contain any chocolate because the heat will cause it to melt. The soldiers will certainly appreciate the support, they're always looking forward to get goodies from the home front :)

You can definetly send cookies. I caution though that some units tell them us not to eat homemade items because something happens to the food during shipping and some soldiers have gotten sick. It would be better just to buy the store bought kind and send them. Trust me, we dont care what kind we almost eat anything...I am just so happy their are people like you wanting to do things for us. That motivates me to continue to work everyday. God Bless you!

If you put the cookies in Ziploc containers, they will stay fresh.
Two of the containers will fit into a standard rate US Mail package.

I got several of these packages of cookies when I was in Kuwait and they were great to have.

Okay I can help with this one.

I send my husband cookies all the time. Depending on the heat at the time also depends on what type of cookies I send.

You can send any kind of cookie but I usually don't send anything with chocolate in the summer. You can send peanut butter or replace the chocolate chips with M&M's.

Here are some guidelines.

Here are some websites that might help you:

http://reviews.ebay.com/HOW-TO-PACK-COOKIES-TO-SHIP-OVERSEAS_W0QQugidZ10000000000089871 (wrapping them individually might take some time, and I have never wrapped them myself like this)

Remember to place crumpled paper, wax paper, or paper towels in between layers of wrapped cookies or boxes. This will help to pad the cookies.

Brownies and bars are usually the best thing to send and with them you can just leave them in the aluminum pan that you bake them in and just wrap that up.

You can also send him cake in a jar and brownie in a jar for something different:
