Dem Congress 11%

Bush 29%

Seems the public hates the Dems in congress even more than they hate Bush!

I don't think the Democrats are threatened in this next election, because it's a Presidential election and Bush has been so damn incompetent that there are going to be lots of "anybody but a damn Republican" votes being cast. (Among his many screw-ups, the worst thing he's done is that he's made it possible for that damn Hillary Clinton to actually have a chance to get elected. Ordinarily, she'd have no chance because she's such a divisive person, and most people...even many of her supporters...don't really like her.)
I do look for the Democrats to lose control of the house and senate in 2010.

I doubt it, the presidents approval keeps going down, and that's where the buck stops. There are many republicans that are keeping a distance from Bush because they know being associated with him is not good politically.
I believe the American people had no problem with Bush sending troops to Iraq after 9/11, but I don't think anyone was prepared for how long it has drawn out and the number of casualties. This is both a republican and democrat problem with no easy answerer's.

The public doesn't like the war. Congress has a low rating because bush keeps vetoing Congressional efforts to end it. Republicans are the pro-war party and if anything they'll lose seats in the next election.

actually, those ratings are for the entire congress, of which 50% is republican. and Bush is even lower than he was before. So I owuld say what it will do is convince all of us who voted for them, to vote more of them in, until they have the majority they need to end this war. Unless, of course, a republican steps up and wants to end it. We are willing to look at a republican who admits to reality, as well. You see, most of us don't care for politicians, or the tricks they use. We prefer to look at job performance. And right now, NOBODY is supporting the GOP, because the GOP does not care about the will of the people. We, as voters, will continue to vote them out for that

Congress is 49% Republican...People aren't happy that the war is still going on...that doesn't man that they will vote for the people who got us into it in the first place.

i don't think so.

i think the public is having a bit of buyers remorse over leaving enough repubs in congress so that they could break the filibuster record - which they now do daily.

they have engaged in over FIFTY filibusters since january, becoming the most obstructive minority party in history.

as awful as the dems are, the alternative is now completely unthinkable.

look for the dems to increase their majorities and take the white house in 08.

the public hates the awful war that no one can seem to put an end to. plus the shaky economy, open borders, and everything else that's screwed up.

The democrats are what i call 5 minute politicians. They change their mind faster than the questions asked. They really live for the moment. They say they are for the "poor" people but when is the last time you saw a rich democrat in the ghetto talking with the people that live there? How can one say he/she is for a group of people they have never met or seen? Trust me Republicans arent much better. Its a no win situation. They all buy their votes anyhow. The only people that run for office are the people who can afford it.

I...I...just don't understand it. The Republican controlled Congress had such incredibly high approval ratings. Such wise decisions were made. Such impeccable integrity was shown. Where, oh where are our Republican saviors now that we need them? (Now, that's sarcasm.) You cons crack me up.
