Is split option available for Infantrymen in the US Army (National Guard)? I'm sure there is but figured I'd ask. Or is the only option OSUT? Thanks.

A friend of mine borrowed a bound photocopy of a book (review material) which she plans to bring into Singapore during her vacation by the end of the year? Will that get her into trouble at the airport/customs? Or should she just leave it behind? I told her not to risk it. She's being stubborn but I think I'm correct. What do you think?

I was wondering if you could get shots from your doctor and be exempt from it during Reception Week at BCT. Would they give you one or would they just say, "The hell with it, we'll give you more". Oh yeah, I also heard they're giving shots for anthrax now?

It seems that a lot of ethnic communities in UK have a resentment towards Britain's history, Empire, culture, achievements, laws etc.

Why allow more asian muslims in, when they simply do not fit in. Support for Sharia Law and Terrorism, Honour Killings, refusal to mix in with the native population, setting up a state within a state, high prison population, high unemployment, low school achievement, sexism etc etc...what real use are they to Britain.

You also see this with some Afro-Carribean "thinkers" who resent britain's past, saying everything britain has ever done is on the backs of slavery etc! Slagging the Empire etc. Always blaming RACIST britain for the failures of their community. A bit insulting to the british, id say!

Why the hell come here. Im not of British origin, but i respect this country greatly, and feel british, and as a result british people treat me as british!

"The Ten Commandments of a Military Wife"

1.Thou shalt not write in ink in thy address book.

2.Thou shalt not covet choice assignments of other uniformed braches of service.

3.Love thy neighbor.

4. Honor thy Commissary and Exchange as long as they both shall live.

5.Thou shalt not ridicule a local politician, for mighty senators from local politicians grow.

6.Thou shall look for the best in every assignment, even though the best may be. "The most childhood diseases in one year," or "Record snow in one months time."

7. Thou shall remember all thy friends from all thy assignments, with greeting cards at Christmas, for thou never knowest when thou may wish to spendeth a night with them while enroute to a new post/base.

8.Be kind and gentle to retired, white-haired Exchange and Commissary customers, because thou too will be a retiree someday.

9.Thou shalt not curse thy husband when he's on TDY on moving day.

10.Thou must never arrive at a new post/base and constantly brag about how everything was much better at the last post/base.

Hi.
I am planning a trip to the States around the next of next year. I am 20 years old, will be 21 in June '09. I wanted to get a temporary work visa so that I could work in bars and such along my travels.
Would I need to apply for a green card, or is there a temp work agreement that could be sorted out? I am Australian.

Thanks.

Persident Bush is responsible for the damge caused by Katrina (as some of you believe). However in 1977 the Army Corp of Engineers attempted to build concrete barrier gates, similar to the flood control gates used in the Netherlands. The building of these gates was stopped after the environ-mental (wackos) filed suit. So one can only assume that this is what caused the flooding. My question is who is at fault based on this information?

Okay your going to have to be in the military to answer this question, Heres the deal, Im currently in the navy, and where I am stationed (shore duty) I have met sombody in the same department as I am, we have decided after a year that we want to get married, obviously that cant happen right now because we are both in the same department at the same command and that would be against the navys policy. we are very serious (though VERY professional on duty)_and are not on the same duty section. We have both been back to each others home states and met each others family so this isnt just som military bullshit like usuall, but very serious. Im up for orders soon and she is due to get out and go on reserves. If i get overseas orders to a place i can bring my family, would it be possible if i marry her when i leave to bring her with me, with her being reserves and all?

The price of ciggarettes is being raised again by almost another dollar. On Wednesday, August 1st, H.R. 3162 which included a $4.50 per carton federal cigarette excise tax increase was passed by the US House of Representatives by a vote of 225-204. On Thursday, August 2nd, H.R. 976 which included a $6.10 per carton federal cigarette excise tax increase was passed by the US Senate by a vote of 68-31. Both bills also included increases in the federal excise tax on other tobacco products.

Is it conflict of interest that the government is making so much on ciggerrettes? If you truly believe that this money is all going to positive social programs your naive.

If any of you have seen the CNN special Gods warriors, I was watching it the other night and became quite disturbed. I was watching the segement about the Christian community pushing their ideals, values and when I mean Values, I mean Rules they live by, according to the bible. I understand freedom of speech but what i have an issue with is seperation of church and state. With the 2 new Justices in the supreme court that passed the christian values test sorta say where put in the christian values and ideals are not in the justice system. I see this as the begging to the end. If this were to ever get bigger than it is now, it will be a holy war between all religions in America just as it is in the middle east. Just looking for some feed back. Thanks

I see this alleged by a number of pro-illegals here in the IMMIGRATION forum.

My answer:

1) The land was originally populated by Native Americans. They arguably have first claim, not the Mexicans

2) Huge chunks of the U.S. southwest were at various times claimed by Spain, Russia, Britain, France and the U.S., and was almost completely unsettled and unexplored until after 1800.

3) Mexico won its independence from Spain in 1821. Texas seceded from Mexico in 1835, so Mexico only had that territory for barely 15 years.
Moses Austin was granted land in Texas in 1821, the same year.

4) Texans (many of whom were ethnic Mexicans) would have been content to remain part of Mexico, if they were free to police their own state, instead of the Mexican army.

5) Mexico, against the advice of Britain and France to use diplomatic means to settle the Texas border dispute in 1846, attacked the U.S., giving the U.S. provocation to fight Mexico and later declare peace terms.

My neighbor who causes so much noise in the weird wee hours of the morning are unusual. O.k. The wife plays with the dog outside til 2 a.m. in the morning yelling his name, and scantily clad. The hubby brought his truck this morning 3 a.m and began shoveling dirt/something from his truck onto his property. Could this mean he is stealing something from somehwere? I mean he works for this semi-company.

This family even has family members coming at 12-2a.m. in the morning for visits and people coming and going in their home. They seem very suspicious, and are always looking behind their back like something is going to happen very-unusual. What are your thoughts?
