There is a strong difference between people who are religious, and people who are religious extremists. The real danger, IMHO, are the extremists--and in the USA, you're right that there are some Christian extremists. While I am somewhat concerned about the Supreme Court, my hope is that the USA votes in a more moderate president (Democratic *or* Republican) who will appoint as our next justice(s) someone who is more representative of the entire nation, and not just the religious right.
To me, it's not bad enough to get frightened about. But it is worth keeping vigilant about the matter. Good for you, staying informed.

The whole show creeps me out. "God's warriors" is such an arrogant and presumptuous title to the thing.
The separation of church and state is what keeps this country progressive and insures equal treatment of all citizens, regardless of their beliefs or lack thereof. Tyranny can be the only result of the fundamentalists placing religious preferences into government funding.
The U.S. seems to be going downhill socially, but this could be because I am young and new to the political spectrum. Religious piety now seem to be a litmus test for all politicians. Everyone from the DNC to the Republican party makes their "faith" a matter of public appeal. The republicans have gone further and many oppose stem cell research and the theory of evolution. Nobody who doesn't fit the religious mold will get elected, no matter how competent they are at the job. This is disturbing.

The segment about Christians in this special was a wild exaggeration. The Christians I know that know anything about it were afraid that the liberals would take over the Supreme Court. They say it had almost happened. But most Christians are pretty unaware politically. I don't know of any that want to take over, they just don't want America to go totally anti-Christian. I also don't know of any that want to run off any other religions, although some fear the Muslims may try to take over and try to get rid of Christianity as has been done elsewhere. In my opinion, the main thing they want as to be able to keep freedom of religion themselves.

I've been making this point for some time. Do we really want to turn America into the middle east? The segment discussing the group "Battle Cry" was especially creepy. They are teaching children that they are at war with America. How long before one of them grows up and starts killing for Jesus. They are dangerous and need to be dealt with head on.
These people are advocating murder of people who don't buy into their brand of extremism. I have no doubt they'd have little problem forcing homosexuals into concentration camps. Right along with anyone else that did not mindlessly follow the bouncing ball.

I think we need to take a long hard look at the religious extremists here at home. They need to be given all the same scrutiny that we've given the ones overseas--no matter what their affiliation. Or we really will end up fighting the over here!

I watched part of God's Warriors, but not the part about the segment about the Christian community. In my opinion it sounds like CNN gave a very slanted liberal view of Christians. Also, there are still liberals in the Supreme Court with anti-Christian views. There will be no holy war by Christians. The whole idea is a left-wing fear tactic. Did they use they use the "Jaws" soundtrack for background music? I hope this bring a laugh. Because the whole thing is just ridiculous and they are trying to bring fear where there should be none.

I found it frightening.
Organized religion was created to control the masses!
What better way to control people than to put the fear of God into them!?!
This really kicked in when the kingdoms started falling apart as the serf-peons began educating themselves and each other and revolted against subjugation!!

Christians scare me, and I am one.
I'm terrified of what might become of the Supreme Court.
Christian extremists are bullies and are no better than Muslim extremists in my opinion.

no, because here in america everyone is allowed to speak their minds, to put their ideas out there like anyone else. in the middle east, if you arent muslim, you are killed, plain and simple. so i doubt we will have that problem.
