I'm recently retired and would like to live in Australia. I have a modest income, but I don't know what I'd need to do to live there. Anyone done this- change their address to Australia?

I am currently a temporary resident, awaiting my permanent residency. There are a few ways to immigrate and I highly suggest their immigration website http://www.immi.gov.au/.
Trust me when I say that it takes quite a bit to get here and the website has everything you need to get started.
Good luck!

This is a very long and drawn out process with a stack of paperwork big enough to choke a pig.

I migrated here 5 years ago, and hired the help of a solicitor (Lawyer) Peter Love Immigration Services. They were most helpful, reliable and hard working.

Find them here

The are affordable. Granted, it will take some time though, it will not happen over night.

Best of Luck

I was told by several people in immigration that they do not allow people to retire in Australia. You must be under 40 and have a marketable skill, one that is in demand in Australia. You must come with money, enough to live for so many years and your work visa has to be approved every year.

They are very strict about who they let in.
