lets say that a guy snashed my bag and I pull out my gun and shoot him. or if i get confronted by a gang i would kill them all or I can defend my self in a drive by shooting

No. Self-defense classes and firearm training would improve your odds of surviving.

It will, but only if you are completely and thoroughly trained in its use and you have adequate practice. But guns cause a lot of problems as well, so unless you're in a SUPER dangerous area (like South Central) I wouldn't even consider it. The number of gun accidents in homes is staggering, and if people find out you have a gun, you will automatically become a more attractive target.

Actually it would probably do more to get you killed that keep you safe. Let the purse go who cares - and you could never kill all of a gang before they got you - and a drive by would be long gone before you pulled out your gun.

Yak is right, be sure you are legal with the firearm, and keep in mind, if you are not willing to use it, someone will take it from you. A taser, stun-gun, or pepper spray might be a better solution. Stay safe!

Educate yourself in its proper use and carrying laws of the state/county. A concealed weapon permit would be a wise choice. The classes would be a tremendous benefit to you.
Remember, you would need to be under threat of deadly force to justify its use, in most states. As I said, do the research for your state and county. This is the best way.

It will do absolutely nothing for you unless you take a good class in the safety and use of firearms and the legal issues surrounding their use in self defense.

there is no inanimate object made, no talisman, no shield, no magic fairy dust that will make you safer on the city streets. With proper training, it will at least give you a fighting chance.
