The propaganda in American textbooks and on TV is amazing. It had me for a while. I make one complaint about people here so they will understand and better their lives and they yell at me to leave! I would be more than happy to! There really is nothing here for me, or in the future, my children to look forward to! If you've ever left America at any time, you will tend to find most foreigners have the SAME exact opinion about us! It's the same feeling as when someone leaves a cult or a sheltered religious group and realizes they've been conned.

People say life here is so much better but it's such a lie. Employment numbers here are fixed or manipulated, and big business has been destroying jobs here for years. Americans definitely win the award for most miserable, unfriendly, antagonistic, unhappy people in the world. I mean it.

BTW, I wouldn't brag about your freedom in this country, you're probably not keeping up on the news!

1. Rudy brought Caroline to City Hall on Take Your Daughters to Work Day in 1994 and 1995, his first two years as mayor, but never again — because by 1996 "the relationship between Giuliani and his twentysomething press secretary had so poisoned the marriage that all such family events were impossible."
2. The Giulianis went on a family vacation after he was elected in 1993 — and then never did again.
3. On Father's Day 1995, Giuliani told reporters he was going to play baseball with his son — and instead went to a basement suite at City Hall with his "ever-present" press secretary.
4. Neither his wife nor his kids went to Rudy's victory party when he was reelected in 1997.
5. The kids aren't listed in Giuliani's bio on his Web page.
6. He skipped his son's high-school graduation.
7. He went to Caroline's but left without speaking to her. "I am celebrating with my mom, my stepfather, my brother, and our other family members," she said then.

I checked and California law allows us to mount a satellite dish on our property. Our homeowners association can't tell us we can't have a dish because of the looks. If we have a view of the Southern Sky from our property we can have a satellite.

But then there's some gray area. We asked if we could install it on the roof or the wall on our place and homeowners said no. They said the walls and roof are not our property. We asked if we could have it on our patio and they said yes. But when we asked if we could screw it onto the patio floor they said we can not drill holes on the patio.

So... my thinking is that we can. Although we don't own the patio, we're able to put anything we want on it. By law we're able to put a satellite on our patio but to do so requires the tri-pod to be mounted to the ground with screws. The only way you can have a satellite is to screw either the satellite or the tri-pod into something.

What's your take? Does anyone know if we're legally able to do this?

They were so proud. Most of them waved at me as they passed. Just a stupid civilian on the sidewalk. I can't believe how high moral is for the military right now. Why libs want to give up the war on terror and let Osama win is beyond me.

Lets get down to brass tacks! I have posted several questions on here regarding the war being fought in Chechnya, and I have received several answers, most of them sincere and honest answers, now I would like to hear what you feel would be the solution to this war in Chechnya, and how it could end in a very amicable and peaceful manner between the Russian Federation and the Chechnya's fighters?

Serious answers, please!

Thank you,

I asked a question on here about how neurotic people in America are, and many posters responded that it's because people have life so great and in other countries, people are dirt-poor and scrounge for food...LOL.

Fact is, people overseas don't lead lives that are much different from ours. I hate it when people here go on religious rescue missions overseas and act like THAT'S the world. Why don't these same people go on missions in their own cities and find the people that are living just as badly?

Anyway, I find Americans are really spoiled and immature. This probably started with the last few generations after World War II. There are people here that agree that the mentality of people here is driving this place downhill, but they are the few remaining smart ones. Where I came from was really strict and disciplinarian, and America is what I think is the result of a society that thinks order has become unnecessary.

You wake up one day in a one bedroom shack, tour stomache gumbles but there is little to eat. You look over at your children who are playing with the bugs that infest your house. Your wife has left to fetch water for the daily chores.
You have no lights or anything. Then a friend of yours stops by and tells you if you go to Canada the jobs are plentiful and pay well, but it is a dangerous journey and many people there will hate you.
Do you go so your family can eat?

I am a 26 year old black female, who for the most part, tries to look at the bright side of things. Well, this past friday, the company I work for awarded fiscal year bonuses. Now, there is a 40 year old white woman who does the exact job I do and gets paid the same wage that I do (she showed me her check stub one day). This person started about 6 months after me and daily she comes to work, does her job, surfs the internet, collects her check at the end of the week, and that's that. I on the other hand, come to work daily, do my job, assist others with their job, have requested to move to one of the other teams (my department has several teams with different functions and I wanted to learn them all), sign up for additional training classes my company offers (ocassionally coming in on my off days), and collect my check. This same co-worker and I were talking today and she said her bonus was $1850 but mine was only $1200. I'm confused and I don't think it's fair. Are they racist?

A true Atheist (I feel) is not interested in proving religions are wrong! I believe that religious people have the duty to make me believe that religion is right! Athesits I know are not interested in disporoving religion but I just wish socities can live in a 100% secular society rather than religious people making the people in power bow to there religious beliefs (E.G. Muslims wanting to ban a picture of a pig in a an office place)

Why do you think it's okay for Bush to enact policies that violate the Constitution just because your own personal rights have not been violated? In other words, when people start talking about the wiretap program, and you respond with, "Liberals can't give an example of how their rights have been violated by this program," why is that even significant? The POTENTIAL for having your rights violated is every bit as bad as having them violated.

As a follow-up... if you are pro-life, why? After all, your own life hasn't been affected by someone else's abortion...
