He seems to be a genuine guy who really is looking out for the interests of his people, especially the poorest of his people. But you decide. The following is a truly amazing expose' on America's involvement in South America. Each part is about ten minutes, and they're in chronological order.

He's a calculating socialist, though not necessarily a psychopath. Whether one may agree with his methods or not, he is getting things done that previous regimes have failed to accomplish. Doing this will gain Chavez status amongst many in the region, drowning out US influence.
He's also right about the US viewing Latin America as marginal, since their too preoccupied with the Middle East militarily, and that the American gov't puts ridiculous conditions on gov'ts that ask for their assistance.

Chavez is helping many Latin American countries. What has the "U.S." ever done for Latin America?
I'll tell you:
1. Illegally fund the Contras by selling weapons to Iran. The U.S. backed Contras killed over 30,000 people in Nicaragua in an ILLEGAL civil war. The u.s. in return was sued and lost due to atrocities and human rights violations they caused in Nicaragua. (Google: Iran-Conta Scandal and Nicaragua vs. United States). They also sold and smuggles drugs from Colombia to U.S. (mainly Los Angeles) and contributed largely to the crack epidemic in the 80s and 90s.
2. The U.S. has back some of the most atrocious Dictators in Latin American history (Somoza [Nicaragua], Pinochet [Chile]) and so many others.
3. I don't even want to start on all the things they did to Cuba.
4. There is no point for me to go on, use google, pick up a book and see all the atrocities the U.S. has committed. Not just in Latin America but WORLDWIDE. Another dictator they back was Pol Pot (from Cambodia) which led to the "Killing Fieds" (google it). Such atrocity.

What this world needs is many more Chavezs who have proven that their first concern are the ordinary citizens and who refuses to create a plutocracy of the elitists that the US is all and only about.
Aside from his and all of South and Central's JUSTIFIED HATRED of the US and his verbal attacks on the US,Chavez is not a threat to his neighbours and unlike the vile animal Bush has not started an ILLEGAL war of choice based upon a pack of filthy lies that has so far resulted in the slaughter ofv iver 400,000 INNOCENT Iraqi civilians.
The US has trashed ,oppressed and raped most countries in the Americas .It has destroyed DEMOCRACIES and fully backed murderous dictators who aided and abetted the US in the criminal/colonialistic use and abuse of countries and their people.
You don't think so my little ignoramuses ? HERE !!

Chavez is a bloody SAINT compared to that war monger in the Oval Office who has committed crimes against humanity.

He's a leftist leader who gives people all around the world hope that there is a valid alternative for the US domination.Chavez is democratically elected and only a threat to American economic interest because those interests are often in sharp conflict with the best interests of humanity

He nationalized the oil resources of his country, and cut the profits of the oil companies. That plus his un-Republican "give-aways" to the poor and his end run around the international bankers makes him a calculating socialist psychopath in the eyes of the rulers of our country.
In point of fact, however, he's becoming a demagogue. He's shut down papers and a tv station and I believe he's gotten the term limits laws revoked so that he can seek a 3rd term.

Most US foreign aid also goes right back into American pockets as well.
Focusing on alternative energy sources is a great way to stop maniacal leaders, their money sources would dry up. It's all oil money.

Why does any one person who does something for *nothing* considered a "socialist psychopath"?
Is there something the majority have against people who help out others who are less fortunate than they are--or what?
Geez Louise!
If I gave you $5000 free and clear--would you turn it down out of spite?

He's a caculating man. He's not a pyscho, in the traditional sense of how we think of the word. He is separating us from Latin America and by giving more then the US and making other countries indebted to him. He is trying to establish his own vision of the world.

I talked to a guy from Columbia the other day. People in the area don't like him. He shut down the only independent television news program. That sounds pretty scary. Otherwise, why don't you ask Sean Penn - he runs around with his nose up Chavezs' butt anyway.
