It seems like this is a criteria. Any guesses which country we'll be having it out with next with the new president? Better yet, name one president who wasn't involved in a conflict or war.

Forgive me, I'm not familiar with the customs of law enforcement so bare with me... I have a friend who was a sergeant in his department, this was about six years ago. He's now a lieutenant, but I haven't spoken to him in six years. Do you congratulate someone for being promoted from Sgt. to Lt.? Is that normal?

Why do people blame the President for everything when he has to go through congress?
Everybody says Bush Bush Bush. He has to go through congress and they can override any of his proposal so if you don't like something it's them to blame more than him. Even if he veto's a bill they still vote and have the final say.

Now I don't like him that much either but I think he's much better than the other cannidates.

I think he's doing the best he can and I think people should cut him some slack.

http://digg.com/offbeat_news/If_A_Cop_Tries_To_Tell_You_There_Are_No_Quotas_for_Tickets_They_Are_Lying

read that and then tell me if you really believe police quotas are fake...

The police have quotas, but just call them by different names. a bunch of liars hmm. Plus they themselves break traffic laws like nothing. It was on dateline or something, where a bunch of cops were breaking the city's own traffic laws without second thought...just to take their lunch at a restaurant they blocked a fire hydrant and stuff.

so my family and i have been living in this apartment for a little over the month. the carpet is sticky, smelly, and attracts bugs. my parents have already been bitten by ticks and needed to go to the hospital to get it checked. they also refuse to sleep upstairs anymore because of them. we have told our landlady about this ever since weve moved in but she just ignores us. she tells us that shes old and sick. but she has children that helps her run the apartments. our neighbors have also been having trouble with her because it took the landlady over three months to fix the leak in her bathroom. she didnt not get it fixed only until she wrote a letter somewhere did the landlady fix it. my mom doesnt remember who our neighbor wrote to. so i was just wondering... how can i make my landlady take action?

We've all seen those tv shows and movies where a cop needs a car, flashes his badge, and snags someone's car. I'm just curious if a cop can, LEGALLY, do that? Does anyone know of any laws in their respective states?

At least, what people belive the western is. Everybody here believes in God (except in Europe). In North and South America, people are very religious. Don´t forget your language. Forget the British colonization.

I watched an american program lately called 'what should you do?' and there was a scenario of someone choking and it advised that you should not slap them on the back as this can cause the item to become further lodged and that you should just do the (don't know how to spell it) hi-men ik remover straight away. This isin't how I was taught first aid, is this true?

Since Sept. 11th, foreign travel to the U.S. is still down. I'm curious what your experiences have been--rude officers or friendly ones? I've seen and experienced the best of both worlds. I'm also interested in the opinions of Americans returning home.
