My rent was due on the 5th, which fell on a Sunday (a non-business day) so I paid the next day after the business day, and I was considered late as well as charged a late fee that Monday. I live in Tennessee.

Is it true that in Tennessee, and some states that a landlord is not allowed to consider you late or charge you if the rent fell on a non-business day, and you came in to pay it the next day afterwards?

The flooding over the weekend took out about 6 foot off the sides of our bridge. There is just enough for a vehical to pass. We live on a dead end private road, with it being the sole way in and out for our neighbors and ourselves. It is a gravel road with a 36 inch tin horn. From the top of the bridge to the creek bed is about 15' deep. If we loose one more foot of road we'll be shut in. Is there any assistance we can get? We're tring to get the county to take it over so the school bus can come down and pick up our kids. If that doesnt work are there any programs with soil conservation, fema that we could try? Who should we contact for assistance?

and yes they are basic..we only know communism/socialism/capitalism. we have no way of comprehending other systems of politics/economics except through evolving through making mistakes, learning and understanding. isnt it our responsibility for the generations that have to pay for our blindness to open our eyes to fairer systems that involve the human race and not segregrate it? if not have knowledge of it but to be open enough to receive it? instead of blindly accepting that capitalism is the answer against other failed systems....
