We should respect and support our troops without a doubt.
However, the founding fathers wrote a consititution that provided our freedoms to begin with. They came up with whole idea of America having certain freedoms, so don't leave them out of the whole debate. We wouldn't need soldiers if not for them and the declaration.
The soldiers/military protect our continued freedoms so they get credit for protecting our freedom. That's why they are so awesome.

We owe our freedoms to those who fight for them...just so happens it's soldiers who most often lay their lives on the line to fight for it. Soldiers are not God like...but they should be honored, and people should treat freedom like the gift it is...freedom is not a right, it is a hard won gift paid for by the blood of others and should be protected not abused.

Just who do you think soldiers are? You seem to differentiate between "we"...as the people...being a different category than soldiers. The military are "us." They are people just like you who have voluntarily allowed our country to put them in harm's way to defend it. They are not god-like characters, but they certainly are a cut-above the Average Joe who can blissfully go about his daily activities because of them. They don't expect to be revered, but they should certainly be respected...and thanked.

Yes, we are free because of soldiers. This country would not exist without the Continental Army led by Washington. However, the current war in Iraq has nothing to do with freedom, and nothing to do with terrorism. Or at least it had nothing to do with terror until the U.S. invasion. There were no terrorist groups in that country before the Bush invasion. Now it is a home and a sanctuary for terror.
Bush has successfully turned the terrorist "group" Al Quada into a Terrorist Army. He should be disgraced and ashamed for what he has done to this world, but his vanity won't let him see that everything he has ever done as president has been a failure.

You don't say what country you are in. You also cheated. You asked several questions and only got charged for one.
Having a strong military is the way in the US that we guarantee our freedoms. Soldiers are employees of the government. It our form of government that insures our freedom.
