The flooding over the weekend took out about 6 foot off the sides of our bridge. There is just enough for a vehical to pass. We live on a dead end private road, with it being the sole way in and out for our neighbors and ourselves. It is a gravel road with a 36 inch tin horn. From the top of the bridge to the creek bed is about 15' deep. If we loose one more foot of road we'll be shut in. Is there any assistance we can get? We're tring to get the county to take it over so the school bus can come down and pick up our kids. If that doesnt work are there any programs with soil conservation, fema that we could try? Who should we contact for assistance?

If it's a private structure on private land, I doubt you'll get public assistance.

Try FEMA, but since it is a private road, you are on thehook for fixing anything.

If its private, then you bear the cost unless you had the road covered with insurance.

Buy a small boat or get real comfy with your neighbors. All the advice I can offer.
