2.5 years ago, my brother was riding my fiances new(4days old) motorcycle, and got hit by a car. the officer working the wreck found noone at fault, even though she hit him by running a red turning arrow. Jared did not have insurance on the bike, 1) b/c it was still new( he hadn't had the chance to go get the ins) and 2) state of Florida law says it is not required on a bike less that 5,000 unless its financed. My brother, after life flight and trauma unit stay, got a lawyer to handle the bodily injury claim. the ladies insurance company settled for the max of her policy- 25,000 for the bodily injury. They are giving us a hard time about the property damage. Her insurance company sent out an apraiser and he appraised the bike for 5K (Jared paid 4800 for it). They are not wanting to give Jared but 1100 and they want to keep the title due to my brothers negligence and a witness statement. 1) there is no witness statement in the police report and 2) by them giving my brother 25K for the bodily injury, aren't they required to pay the full property damage as well even though the bike doesn't belong to my brother??? wouldn't them giving him 25K be taking responsibilty for the entire accident??? we have a lawyer working in this but it has been 2 years with no luck.... WHAT ELSE CAN WE DO???? my fiance is wanting to sue my brother and I think he needs to be suing the lady that hit my brother...... any input or advice on this situation would be wonderful considering this is putting alot of strain on the relationship with my parents, brother, fiance and myself..... HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!

If they can't figure out who will make a better alternative, how are they ever going to rally their base or capture swing voters? Will there strategy of a year long smear campaign against any democrat that steps foward work, or just turn the moderate minded people off like it did in the 2006 midterms?

. . Someone just posed a question about fishing licenses. Here's a true story. My husband and I are avid sport fishermen. We were in our boat lobster diving in the Keys when I kid you not, a helicopter hovered over our boat, and demanded through a bull horn to see our fishing licenses. Not one, but three agents came down a rope, boarded our boat, and physically inspected the licenses to make sure they were valid. My husband was underwater at the time, so I was alone with my four-year-old son in the boat. We were playing "I Spy" - neither of looked dubious in any way. So my question is, why can't cops ask to see identification papers of people who are reasonably suspected of being illegal? P.S. our boat was searched for proper equipment as well . . .

Why is it that when someone murders a pregnant woman it counts as double murder?

According to the law, a fetus isn't a human being, I believe (Hence abortions) So why is it double and not single murder?

Okay I've always wanted to be a cop and may get my chance soon. I have been through some military training and now know that it's work. I'm not disillusioned but it does seem like it can be a difficult job. I romanticized it, saw it's not perfect but still want to make a career of it.

Broad question I know.

Since no one in the US cares about US soldiers dying or Somalians dying then why can't the US use Somalians also?

Will it be President Bush, “neo-cons” and America in general?

Or will it be the perpetrators themselves?

If you choose to blame President Bush, “neo-cons” and America, do you also subscribe to the belief that women who are beaten by their husbands deserve it?

I acknowledge the fact that no-one can “make” anyone else do anything they don’t want to (i.e. we must all be accountable for our actions regardless of any positive or negative outside influences).

If somebody suspects you of something and you really didn't do it, why should you have to take the punishment if they frame you and you have no evidence to prove that?

I support amnesty for illegals who don't commit other crimes. And harsh penalties for companies who exploit illegals. But, regardless of how you feel about US Immigration Law, any reasonable person would have to say that these laws go too far

1. There will be no special bilingual programs in the schools, no special ballots for elections, and all government business will be conducted in our language.

2. Foreigners will NOT have the right to vote, no matter how long they are here.

3. Foreigners will NEVER be able to hold political office.

4. Foreigners will not be a burden to the taxpayers. No welfare, no food stamps, no health care, nor any other government assistance programs.

5. Foreigners can invest in this country, but it must be an amount equal to 40,000 times the daily minimum wage.

6. If foreigners do come and want to buy land, that will be okay, BUT options will be restricted. You are not allowed to own waterfront property.

OK, I, know the Liberals already know this, but many people on here, myself included, call the media a “Liberal” organization (except for some, such as FOX News, which is more Conservative in nature). However, Liberals vehemently deny this, saying that the news outlets are completely unbiased.

Well, I caught them in the act. The 60 Minutes reporter last night was trying out some of his Liberal left-wing spin out, and he got caught red handed. He was interviewing a member of the Kurds, a minority group in Iraq. The interview went like this:

--Kurd: Our lives are better now that Saddam is out of power
--Reporter: So, you are thankful for the U.S. INVASION OF IRAQ? (CAPS mine)
--Kurd: It was no invasion! It was Liberation! The U.S. saved our people!

These people were being treated so harshly under Saddam, and they are finally free of his murderous rule, thanks to the US, and this stupid reporter has the tenacity to pull some spin on this guy who may in fact owe his LIFE to the US Liberation of Iraq!

How funny, that a foreigner can identify and correct the spin in our left-wing press, but we cannot!

What do you make of this?
