A friend of mine was arrested on domestic spousal abuse. He says his now ex-wife is crazy, made it up, and did it to try to get full custody of their baby so that she could move out of state. He looked me straight in the eye and said he never hit her. My question is: Would the police really arrest someone and put them in jail for a brief period due to suspicion of abuse? Wouldn't there have to be some kind of proof?

Currently, I am a PO1 in the United States Naval Sea Cadet Corps (USNSCC). Under public law, Sea Cadets have been given the privilege of wearing certain US Naval uniform attire, provided we wear particular insignia identifying the program we belong to.

I will be a CPO in two months. This obviously means that I will have to change uniforms. However, there are a few problems with this: (1) the USNSCC has a very limited supply of CPO uniforms and cannot afford to purchase new ones; (2) I am unable to afford new ones from the NEX.

Where can I find new, or at least very good, CPO uniforms at a low price???

i have a question, i was arrested for grand theft and got out of jail about two weeks ago (spent 45 days in jail). My buddies want to take me to Mexico next week, but i know my PO Officer isn't going to let me go. I know somebody who has the same PO Officer as me.

Well I plan on going and leaving on the same day, and was wandering if i skip town and go to Mexico, will my probation officier somehow know? I live in California BTW. And I'm Asian (so i dont look Mexican at all).

I heard when your going to back to CA, the guards will slide or process your driver's license and something will show up. Is that true? Can i just bring my US passport?

And what happens if i get caught (worse case scenario), do i get held back in Mexico?

A friend of mine suffers from domestic violence. her boyfriend is not officially married to her, but they have been together for twenty seven years. He has not paid child support, does not contribute to rent (he will not even work), and is abusive towards her and the children (when the children were younger). When she calls the police department in fear for her safety, they tell her that there is nothing she can do since her boyfriend receives mail at the home. They will not remove him from the property, or arrest him for domestic violence, unless they, "catch him in the act", in which, when it takes place, by the time the police arrive there, he is, "finished beating her". in fact, whenever she calls the police regarding anything, they rarely appear or follow through because her sons are public enemy number one in the city. regardless of that, they are neglecting to serve and protect, yes?

I have a few misdemeanors and non-convitions on my record. I was in the car with someone carrying drugs but I beat my case.
Also, I got a simple assault that ended up as a non conviction so I basically beat that case too. Those are really the only things on my record. In your opinion, would any of this keep me from being hired full time by the company. I am due to start monday. Thanks for any opinions or knowledge in this matter.

I'm pretty sure the first time any of you heard the word "Neo" you heard "Neo-Nazi" so that's what you associate with Neo-conservatism. "Neo" actually just means "new"; so calling conservatives "neocons" is actually a compliment, considering one of the biggest criticisms on conservatives is that they are out of date and old-fashioned.

Basically, since the term "Neocon" isn't an insult, why do you Yahoo!s use it as one?

COLO- A friend of mine was charged with a class 3 felony. Even though she applied and was approved for a public defender within a week of being charged, none has been appointed to her - more than 1 month later. She was called as a witness in a totally unrelated jury trial, and both the DA and PD asked her very specific questions about HER case while she was on the stand. EXP: "Are you being charged with a felony".... "are you aware that charge carries a penalty of 32 years" (to which she replied "no", that it was her understanding it was 2-12, so she freaked out), and she was asked who else was being charged. The other defendant in HER case HAD been appointed counsel, so when they tried the same tactics on him, he replied he was instructed by his attorney not to discuss it. Attorneys for both sides also discussed HER case with her in the hallway. Something doesn't seem right. It seems like she may have jepordized her case, especially since 1 of the attys is the DA. ????
