The famous picture of the sailor kissing the woman on the street when WW two was announced to the world the war was over. Would he be arrested today and charged with a sex offense?

That of course happened in an era when those two people could get away with expressing their pure joy at hearing the war was over in a way that today would indeed be misconstrued. Sadly, in today's world, even if the woman didn't feel there was any problem with it, someone would of cours encourage her to press charges and there would be a big to-do over it. And we think we've made progress in the last couple of generations?

No - Not by the military. He is already out of the service and if anything, a crime of PDA would have already passed statute of limitations. Although the military services frown on PDA, it's not illegal.

Now, If he did that today. No - Nothing would be done unless the woman who was being kissed made charges against him.

Then I guess they would have to get CSI Miami or LasVegas or New York on the case and prove without doubt that the guy actually was the person that committed the crime. I think they could actually do it since their imaging capabilities on zooming into photos is completely unrealistic - CSI would be able to pinpoint a hangnail on the guy and prove it thru DNA testing that it was the person who claims to be the guy doing the kissing.

Like if I kissed a woman I didn't know at the stroke of new-years and we were in Times Square? Would she file charges? Probably not. Although the potential is there, which is a sad commentary on our society.

No.

We have gone insane in a lot of different ways but I don't believe this is one of them. At least not in a situation similar to the end of World War 2. Coming back from Iraq, I wouldn't try it.

It doesn't appear that the woman he kissed was resisting very much. Hard to claim sexual harassment when she agreed to the smooch. Even harder to prosecute.

And probably put on a sex offenders registry and not being able to live within 1000 yards of a school and having to report to the sheriff's office everytime he moves. That's what political correctness has gotten us.

Wouldn't even happen. The media would be too busy trying to show civilians in Iraq dieing to worry about our troops.

No. It wasn't in any way a sex offense. There is no law against kissing...

Yes, if he kissed a woman, but if he kissed a guy like that it would be okay according to the liberal media.
