Do they just hand them out so that they can kill each other?
I mean I wonder if before the USA arrived did they have that much fire power available? Is this not contributeing to the carnage? And unlimited ammo?

No offense to the Indians but isn't this like selling guns to the Indians?

India? I was using an illustration that is used quite often. The Native American is called an indian when Europeans came they refused to sell guns to the Indians for fear they would use them on them. No one mentions India? get a gripe. Quit with the dirty language kids use this site.

It is basically unorganization. Think of it like this...

Your easy short term solution is to pump up the Iraqi army with weapons and equipment. Unlike the US where every weapon generally has paperwork following it and strict accountability for it, the weapons supplied to foreign armies do not. You take a shipment of 1000 AK-47's and deliver them to a local province of new Iraqi Army soldiers and tell the local police/iraqi army units to pass them out. After that, the US really turns a blind eye to what happens. We assume that they will all be given to the police and newly formed army and don't really question what happens then.

Our main goal at this point is just to get them equipped, supplied, and ready to help us. Paperwork is low on the priority level. It isn't until someone does an audit and actually comes looking for this equipment years later that they notice these shortfalls in inventory lists. No one can say for sure what happens to them, but with no accountability on much of the equipment we give them, it is easy to "lose" things.

I read that on the news. Everything they say on the news is a lie? I mean come on. Everything we quote the news paper we are wrong. Iraq is a nice place and everyone loves each other. But people keep dieing over there. Why is that?
I believe the guns are lost.
Why is people from India such filthy mouth pigs. Who rattled your chains. That is just a saying about American Indians.
They are always so quick to think someone is disrespecting me oh no I am so mad. Chill out !
Since nothing we hear is the truth then maybe our friends who came home in a casket isn't really dead?

I do believe your right the US government doesn't care if they kill each other. Maybe that is how they fight the war on terror.
But what bothers me is the American soldier who thinks he is doing a good job saving his own country from terriorists and trying to help the Iraq people.
It is not called a civil war but I read that most muslims are killed by other muslims. Do we have to draw straws or figure out which side has the most converts and then exterminate the other side to stop the fighting? Like I think the smaller of the two is Shiite, so kill all the shiites and that stops the fighting? I mean this war is so confusing.

I think that you should have read the article more carefully. The weapons are not 'missing' - the Iraqis just screwed up the paperwork used for tracking them.

The really sad thing about this is that this same story was broken six months ago - then quietly withdrawn when it was discovered to have been a paperwork issue. But six months later - here you are shocked and amazed a a rehash of the same discredited old story!

The story is pure and utter fantasy 190,000 weapons gone missing, cheap gutter press with no foundation.

Were you there counting them? No, I think you are just spewing the BS the LIEberal media tells you. If guns were given out, there is a record.

I predict that it will not be anywhere that number. I bet it is an accounting error. You just don't misplace almost 200 thousand weapons.

Honestly, my concern is that these guns will be used against US soldiers. I do believe that the US government (secretly & nefariously) supplies guns to the Sunnis and Shiites so that they will eliminate each other, making the US job easier.

It was meant to be distributed amongst the Iraqi security forces and police forces.. but those forces have long been infiltrated by death squads and insurgents, it was extremely foolish just to hand out so many weapons.
