Ok so I am now 16 years old 5'8'' and weighs 140 lbs. I have just finished Highschool and DECIDED to go to OCS or other commissioning program for the USMC, I have 4 to 5 years to go before I could join the Military since I will be at college to get my Bachelor's degree until then I commited myself to train hard so that I will be prepared by that time, I know it will be a long rough road since it is Officer's training so I assume it is 10x harder, and unfortunately I am not in shape that kinda way, my eyesight is not 20/20 anymore I need to have glasses to recognize far away objects or faces I will TRY to have Lasik surgery I could only do 3 sets of 30 push-ups with 1 minute interval between sets, I could not run/jog for 3 miles without dripping a sweat plus too much running could trigger my asthma although the doctor said with constant training I could fix that, am currently studying for my SAT and next week I would start studying ASVAB

One thing that shocks me is that most Americans I know are unaware that when in a foreign country, they are bound by the laws of that country despite being US citizens. After telling them this, the very next thing they do is complain about how stupid that is. I know women who have been to Saudi Arabia and were mad that they had to wear veils, saying "as an American I shouldn't have to wear a veil, that's an insult to the ideals of my country". I'm sorry, but when in Saudi Arabia, you aren't in the United States. You could say "oh, you don't know, you're a man". Even though I'm a man, I have been to countries where I had to follow laws I did not like. In Mexico, I cannot say a thing about Mexican politics or else I can be deported, because only Mexican citizens may participate in the politics of Mexico (I wish we had a similar law in the United States). But anyway, why do Americans think they should be above local law, but expect foreigners to follow our law when they come here?

Morally I'm Pro Life but I don't vote that way b/c I think to provide a decent quality of life to all those babies, we need more than to slap a law on the books. We need better health care, parenting resources, foster care, adoption resources, welfare programs, education system, and (let's face it) better police protection in 15 years when many of those babies may adopt a life of crime. Since Republicans who would overturn Roe v. Wade are the least likely to raise taxes for any of this, how does the Pro Life camp plan to address these realistic problems?

To me, it makes more sense to try to reduce the number of abortions the "back way"--by bettering health care, higher education and job options for the women most likely to opt for an abortion. There were actually fewer abortions in Clinton's tenure than Bush's--the economy was better and women felt like they had a better shot at making a future for themselves and a baby. I think we need more than just a law to do it right. Thoughts?

Why don't we make a 20 year term limit in politics, that way there won't be as many politicians having to worry about running against an incumbant whose been there for 50 years (I'm looking at you Rep. Byrd of West Virginia, I noticed you've been in office since 1959). I think that from the moment you are elected to your first public office, you have 20 years in office (not including time out of office). That way, some of these people that are causing the problems, will be out of there.
While we're rewriting the Constitution, let's set an age limit on the Supreme Court Justices... How about 75 for the associate justices, and 80 for the chief justice?

People from Northern India from Maharashtra, UP and Bihar are flooding into Bangalore, to make money, once they used to tease south indians as Madrasi now they come down to beg here, also i see lot of street sellers from UP below the age of 18 selling stuffs. late night the TV reports that most of these children are brought down and managed by some fraud person and never even pays them to go home... Bangalore has become another Saudi Arabia. The crime rate too has gone up in Bangalore because of these north Indians.

Are you ever secertly jealous of (legal) immigrants who have found the "American Dream"?
Most of us were raised to believe we would have it better than our parents.Do you ever feel the system has let you down.
People from other countries sometime find the road to the American Dream much easier than we do with all of our advantages of knowing English and being on our home turf.
Just wondering...

If I served between 3-6 years, which military branch would be the best to join that would give me the most benefits for college (while serving/active-duty and after), and also for future career opportunites once out. (And the best pay earned while active of course.)

I'm looking for something in the construction/architectural type area, as I aspire to be an architect eventually.

I've looked at the websites, but I'm hoping for some more personal advice and opinions rather, or advice from someone more knowledgable on the matter.

Also, if you have any relative information in regards to the reserves, please share that too. Thx

Madison and his adult son lived in a house owned by Madison. At the request of the son, Marshall painted the house. Madison did not authorize the work, but he knew that it was being done and raised no objection.
Madison refused to pay Marshall, arguing that he had not contracted to have the house painted.
Marshall asked his attorney if Madison was legally liable to pay him. The attorney told Marshall that in their state several appellate court opinions had established that when a homeowner allows to be done on his home by person who would ordinarily expect to be paid a duty to pay exists. The attorney stated that, on the basis of these precedents, it was advisable for Marshall to bring a suit to collect the reasonable value of work he had done. Explain what the attorney meant by precedent and why the fact that precedent existed was significant.

I believe it is because you have insurance and your afraid your medical care will go down. Your in the minority because the majority of us do not have good health care or coverage and your party mocks us. I know everyone cannot be rich, but I believe everyone needs health care. All I hear from the Republicans is keep the rich rich and make the poor more poor. I do not care if you answer!
