Honestly i can only think of one way. Get the U.N and the rest of the world to build up a force of 1million international soldiers. half a mil in Iraq and half a mil in Afghanistan. also position 20-30 real time satellites to watch every inch of this countries. if they ambush our troops we can see where they went to hide and flush them out. they have to be put in a position where they know any insurgency will be crushed immediatly. this way only the honest and peace loving citizens will be safe and less innocent people put in harms way. you cant put ied´s if you have 2 or 3 soldiers in every corner watching you. i hope all this gets sorted out soon and less civilians and soldiers get killed. its been going on for far too long.

A "war on terrorism" can not be won. Terrorism is not an enemy, it's a tactic. The concept makes no more sense than having a "war on flanking movements" or a "war on secure communications". For the benefit of all concerned we should drop that bumper sticker slogan today.

An organization called al-Qaeda attacked the United States on 11 September 2001 by hijacking airliners and crashing them into prominent targets. Terrorism describes the character of their methodology. It is NOT however, their ideology, their motivation, their nationality, or their ethnicity. We are not fighting terrorism because there is no one out there named terrorism.

The best way to stop fighting is to figure our why we're fighting. We need to have a clear goal for our actions and a strategy for reaching it. If we have an achievable goal we continue until it's reached, then withdraw. If we don't, withdraw now. There is no point in perpetual fighting just to prove we're stubborn.

In Afghanistan our goal should be destroying al-Qaeda. Do that, ensure the government is stable, and leave.

Iraq is problem since we had no reason to invade and our invasion is what caused the instability that forces us to stay. We can't leave Iraq in its present state but our presence may be the biggest obstacle to its eventual resolution.

America is it's own worst enemy when it comes to Wars like Vietnam and Iraq. While the US military might be able to defeat the enemy on the battlefield, the 'enemy' at home is much more resilient. Really, what it comes down to is that the USA is, at heart, an isolationist country. It's been forced - almost continuously, since WWII - to involve itself in international politics, but, ultimately, the American people don't like the involvement, don't support politicians with rationale policies towards that involvement, and end up in bungled wars like Iraq, where there is no victory to be had, not because the enemy is strong or the military weak, but because the will to victory of American 'hawks' is consistently less effective than the will to defeat of it's 'doves.' Doves tap the isolationist tendencies of the American people, so no war can last long. In the past, blatant attacks, like Pearl Harbor were enough to overcome these isolationist and defeatist tendencies. Today, as we are seeing, even the deaths of thousands of Americans on American soil at the hands of a dispicable enemy are not sufficient to drown out the siren call of isolationism. I guess you can look at it as a defect in the political system: America's leaders cannot force thier people to fight protracted unpopular wars, so they cannot 'win' such wars.

Iraq is a lost cause, the so called ''war on terrorism'' is pretty much a load of political crap. The US media won't show the real magnitude of the iraqui conflict . They should back off Iraq and concentrate on humanitarian aids for this country and also concentrate their military force in Afghanistan . The US economy is really crumbling so 2 wars isn't an option!

Gradually pull out and leave the countries to their national armies. If they can't handle it, they need to shape up and be a little more authoritarian.

I don't think the US can defeat all of the terrorist groups actively after it soundly and permanently. However, what happens if they continue? America needs to learn to live with terrorism. It used to be commonplace in Germany and Italy. Israel's put up with it for decades. Not to mention nobody's attacked the US mainland since 9/11/01.

Al-Qaeda has a ridiculous and almost impossible goal in mind - destroy America. And they believe that they'll somehow eventually break America into a mass of separated states? Utter lunacy. The War on Terrorism is hard to win, but even harder to lose.

Yeah, by peaceful acts
Its hard but its the only thing that can be done in the long term
Of course, for the initial term, US must can establish the law & order strictly in Iraq

There are many people that allowed to carried many guns in Iraq so how we can talk with peace ?
More worse, how can we talk peacefully with a man which not only lack of educational background but also lack of self belief & carried guns ?
As long as many people can be allowed to carried a gun & acts like a irational people, there will be no peace

How can we expect to win a war when many people are allowed to carried guns despite they said as an allied ???
Yeah, cuz they feel they are an US allied so they can do anything that they want & that acts will be ruined any peaceful acts too

First, we must gain their trust that US comes with peaces & to liberated the Iraq people from despotic tyranny of Saddam
but its THE HARDEST POINT cuz I believe US comes to Iraq to pump their oil to US refinery

So how US can create peace in Iraq when they actually comes as a economical & militarical slaver ?

So as long as US comes to Iraq only to get their oil, the peaces in Iraq will be impossible cuz the US will only want to establish order & law unjustified (giving safer & peacefull condition only for US & oil corp gain not for all of Iraqi people)

But if US truly comes to Iraq as a purely liberator like what they had been done in France in WW2, I believe peace is not impossible as long as its comes with peaces not as a murderous allied

Yeah, I know that this acts are absolutely hard & difficult but its not impossible & judging the result to maintain the effect for far far more long than compared using war, this is better

Looks what happened with India that choose to struggle to gain their independence from UK through justice & peaceful ?
In the end, they won !

Better suffer now but temporary than suffer than but FOREVER !

like Tupac Shakur said: f_uck peace! :)) ok, i'm just kidding, but basically there will always be wars, no matter what we do. but to make a "giant leap for mankind", like Armstrong said, we should dissolve EACH and EVERY organized form of religion. THAT would help a lot! islam, jew, christian...you name it!
