Hahahaha. Yeah. Right. Um, correect me if I'm wrong, but there was anti-American hatred for many years. Look at the Iran hostage crisis in the late '70s. Yep. Carter was President. The first attack on the WTC was in 1993. Clinton was in office. It doesn't matter who is in office. Someone will hate the U.S.A. regardless.

World peace!!?? There's never been such an animal. We became hated because of our behavior in the world. Bullying, cheating and murdering our way to control the resources on an over populated planet.
I really have to laugh at you cons for slamming Carter. Is that all you have left at the bottom of the barrell? He was the last president that actually made an effort to represent the people and got frozen out by the corporate government that you neocons are so in love with.
Do you hear anybody dredging up old tricky Dicky Nixon and his criminal bunch.
What a pack of losers...

First of all, I think you mean 1/20/01, which was when Bush was inaugurated.
And no, the tide turned after the invasion of Iraq, which had virtually no international support. That was when nations that had once been our friends started to see what other nations had been saying about us for years (And yes, there's been anti-American sentiment for decades), that we're an international bully that will use our power to do what we want, regardless of what the rest of the world feels is right. The amazing amount of pro-American feeling that had developed after 9/11 was eradicated in one fell swoop.

No. Parts of the world has hated America all along. Our imperialistic policies go back more than 100 years. What happened in the Bush administration is that all of the good will for the US following 9/11 was ruined when Bush invated Iraq. Following the 2004 election, I overheard many people in Europe wondering how people in the USA could vote for him again. Our allies were disappointed, while our enemies got just what they wanted: world opinion against us.
Join the Ron Paul revolution!

I don't think anyone has said this... I'm not a liberal but I travel a lot and a lot of people abroad are angry at the United States but it was after we invaded Iraq. This is just a fact, Europeans in particular hate this president and his administration according to polls. They don't necessarilly hate America or Americans.
Why does it bother you so much to admit that they don't like Bush?

The republicans can put down the democrats all they like but one thing they can't put down is how the USA was respected around the world before Bush took office. It doesn't feel good being looked upon as the bad guys after being looked up to for so long. As Americans we don't know how to handle all the criticism from around the world. We can say all we like it doesn't bother us but who are we kidding it hurts to hear people we don't even know blame us for the actions of one man.

Neither one of them started a war the has taken US soldiers lives! Both did everything humanly possible to AVOID war! Clinton left intell on Bin Laden that Rice ignored!
Bush has turned us into a war monger, and ruined our reputation before the world! He has created a national debt the that our grandchildren's children will be paying on!
That is quite a legacy, wouldn't you say?

The world has been hating us since we didn't humbly say that we were irrelevant in WWII. [/sarcasm]
It's fun to poke at the big dogs. And we are the only big dog, since the collapse of the Soviet Union.
It's a passive form of rebellion. They're jealous of our status and power, and hate us for our intrusive foreign policies.
They've hated us for some time... But Bush taking office certainly didn't help matters.

It's not that we had world peace before Bush became president it is just that we had a president unwilling to act in the best interests of this country. The left loves Carter because he can always be counted on the blame America first and suggest policies that would hurt this country.
