sure, been great for all the mexican peasants who lost their land to corporations and now have to immigrate to this fake country of pedophiles and junkies.
been great to all the american workers who saw their jobs shipped abroad.
been great to all the people abroad who are working those jobs for cents an hour.
Sure... NAFTA is great.

Just a pertinent question... did you study in the US? shows in you UNDERSTANDING. You got to love Reagan for cutting education spending... the real deal.

John Edwards never HAD my vote, but he'd have lost it over any criticism of NAFTA.

Before Clinton was ever involved with NAFTA the proposal had bipartisan support. In a global economy it makes sense for the nations on a continent to stand together economically to better compete.

Where NAFTA can be a problem is when large employers simply skip to Mexico to take advantage of lower labor costs while failing to replace that economic loss in this country. That has happened although not on the scale that was predicted by some NAFTA critics.

We can have a choice. Where would we rather the economic benefit go? To a neighboring country or to China or South Asia? We also often forget that Mexico and Canada are two-way trade partners, buying considerable goods and services from the U.S.

I also believe CAFTA deserves a chance to work.

Edwards never had my vote, and never will.

And NAFTA, by the way, is one of the main causes of all the illegal immigration we're getting from Mexico. NAFTA has caused millions of job losses all over central America. Thats why theyre all coming here. They cant find work in their homelands, because this whole "free trade" concept benefits only the shareholders and management. We need fair trade, not free trade.

(Not to mention that a pretty large number of Americans also lost their jobs because of NAFTA.)

NAFTA did nothing positive for this country as awhole. Maybe in your area it was good, but it destroyed the economy in many parts of the country. Thousands and thousands of people lost their jobs and their homes. We were sold out by slick willy.

We lost so many manufacturing jobs to NAFTA.. the Bush administration was trying to reclassify fast food jobs as manufacturing to prop up the numbers.. NAFTA hurt America.

Edwards never had my vote, but I'm glad someone's exposing the NAFTA train wreck for what it is.

Glad to hear it's working well in at least one place, though.

If I actually thought that the breck boy was being sincere and not merely catering to the unions and protectionist groups, I might actually look at him in a different light. But, the man doesn't have a single sincere bone in his body. Therefore, he's just pandering to the special interest groups who buy into his "2 Americas" tripe.

John Edwards is smart enough to know that NAFTA has provided a net benefit to this country (at least I hope he is).

He is simply catering to the protectionist union-backed mouth pieces of his constituency, and those who are ignorant enough to be fooled by their propaganda.

Also, he is the second to last Democrat that I would have voted for, so, no, he did not lose my vote because of this.

I was pretty mad at Bill for signing NAFTA, especially after he promised he wouldn't. Nafta has cost us many jobs and led to many more free trade agreements. However, I still voted for him. These agreements need to be modified.

What planet do you live on that outsouring jobs to Mexico and cheaply made Mexican goods is a good thing?
