i went in for an initial meeting at the naval recruiting office....... i was shocked at how unprofessional they were. they're not at all representing the navy in the best light and it really angers me! they need to be reported! their behavior must be known to their commanding officer. how do i find out who that is WITHOUT asking the recruiters at the office?

I've seen many people on here say it's ok to give up some freedom for safety, and many others say things like "if you have nothing to hide why do you care," or "It's not something that will probably ever affect you" To be honest, this attitude really bothers me, Many people fought hard and died for these freedoms, and how can we say we are willing to fight for freedom if we willingly trade them away for safety? The thing that made America so great was the freedoms we had, and even losing one of them, even if it never directly affects me, is not exceptable in my opinion. Where does it end, what if the only way to make 100% sure you were safe was to live in an internment camp, would anyone be willing to do that?

the man who fight for you
fight to harm other people
i had to fight not "fighting for my people"
war is never the answer
mostly when its far away from home
only harming other people and serves only people who have to much in life and dont know how to use it other way then harming others. imperialism suck
poor man dieing for that some one will get richer on their dead bodies and their broken families.
they are not fighting for you. unless you like the idea them killing innocent children, that what happen in wars
even if they dont intend to do it, it happens.
they are not fighting for you. unless you are a big fat politician or a blood thirsty industrialist. and you are after war profits.
they never fight for you. war is never good.
and this war is the worst, cause the only cause for this war is your presidents dick envy. he is so insecur of his little guy that he wona show the world how strong he is. "i can do what my papa could not. i am big and strong. suck on this Iraq."

In the old days, our government was designed to consist of a balance of powers, in a system known as "checks and balances." The president has seen fit to eliminate these checks through his use of signing statements. President Bush has written more signing statements than all previous US presidents combined.

President Clinton issued 140 signing statements, frequently acknowledging the crafters of the bills he signed, or perhaps how he intended to enforce them. President George H. W. Bush issued 232 signing statements during his 4 year term. When congress passed a law reiterating America's opposition to the use of torture, President Bush included a statement exempting himself and the executive branch from its purview.

Is it time our civics textbooks were rewritten to reflect this new reality?
