Absolutely. Not just for the Iraq war but for everything. Religion is a multi-billion dollar industry. Churches tell their congregations who to vote for and lobby Congress, so (like George Carlin says) they should pay their admission price like everyone else. He also has a great idea of what to do with counterfeit money...put it in the collection plates.

I'm not sure if it is legal to tax an organization that has tax exempt status.

How about charging Congressmen who vote prowar? Each one can pay out of pocket for the Combat Pay of 50 soldiers or Marines while they are deployed.

I say we should tax the mosque's not the churches. There members claim to be peace lovers too, but I wouldn't dare turn my back on them !

Same question a few hours ago. My answer is YES! Especially if it is the Mormons who agree with the pre emption of war that Bush created, and wants to continue this for as long as it reaps their fever. Absolutely!

We should tax them regardless of the beneficiary. Don't forget synagogs, mosques and temples either.
