i went in for an initial meeting at the naval recruiting office....... i was shocked at how unprofessional they were. they're not at all representing the navy in the best light and it really angers me! they need to be reported! their behavior must be known to their commanding officer. how do i find out who that is WITHOUT asking the recruiters at the office?

Just go to a differ ant recruiting station. Don't base your decision on which branch of service to join based on a lousy visit to a recruiter. Look at what each service has to offer and what you want to do in the military.

Also, if you join from another recruiter, don't forget to mention how messed up the first one was. Your recruiter will give him hell for losing you, and maybe you will help them pull their heads out.

I'm not sure how you can report them, but I know exactly what you are talking about. I had two Army recruiters approach me in a mall a while back and their pitch was pathetic and stupid. First they said the Army is great because they will pay for your college. I told them that my parents paid for my college. Then they actually said, "Yeah, but the Army is great because you get really buff and ripped." The second recruiter actually followed this up by saying, "I know, I have to beat the girls away with a stick because they're all over me since I joined the Army." I replied by saying I didn't want to die in Iraq. They laughed and said, "You're not getting sent to Iraq. They're bringing troops home." I just laughed and walked away.

I will say that I know that their behavior doesn't represent all Army recruiters. A few months later I met a couple of older Army recruiters that were shocked and appalled when I told them about the conversation that I had with the first two recruiters. They asked me for their names so that they could report them, but I never got their names. Perhaps you can tell a different recruiter about that particular naval recruiting office and let them report those guys to their superiors.

If you live in a city with more than one recruiting office you can contact any other office in the city and talk to their recruiters either about joining or to report the ineffective boffos at the other office. If you don't you may be able to get the information on their chain of command from the Army recruiters or look up the numbers for the local MEPS. If you can get the complaint pretty much anywhere in their chain of command they stand a really good chance of being reprimanded for it.

However, don't judge the entire branch of service based on one office. If you really want to join the military look for the job you want to do and base your decision on that.

At least you found out early what you may have been signing up for if you had enlisted with the Navy. My Army recruiter was very professional, but not rigid at all. I spent a lot of time with him while I was in the DEP (Delayed Entry Program), and I found him to be very personable but knowledgable.

If you ever do have any issues with your recruiter, every recruiting office has a CO or Commanding Officer of some sort. Call or go up there and ask to speak with them. Part of their job is to address grievances and handle them accordingly. Good luck!

to report the sailor recruiters all you have to do is call the IG if you live near a naval base, if not, just call in the recruiters office and ask to talk to the highest ranking recruiter and complain to him/her. You should definitely look into a career with the army though.

Send a certified letter to your Congresmman and wait if they reply. Do the same for the Commanding officer, Inspector General and send them certified, keep copies with you. Some people say, military help each other and they cover wrong things that they do but with letters, people can make a difference reporting these behaviors and make them public. You will see that behavior in any brand of the military but that does not means that all military are like that. Those behaviors have to be reported to stop abuses.

Good idea forget the Navy, join the Coast Guard. Smaller outfit and lot more varied in fields you can get into. More professional in approach to things. And And most of the time you get stationed close to home if you live near the oceans or gulf.
No not me I was a Jarhead. One of my ex son in laws was in the Coast Guard. Reason I know about them.

permit's seem at what you wrote. The uncles daughter worked in the area of work and actually started out this juicy little piece of gossip, telling a cousin that throughout the time of turn recommended you. You recommended your dad, your dad recommended your grandpa, and on and on and on.......Grandpa has often recommended grandma and a pair of others via now, in spite of the undeniable fact that via staring at at what you wrote approximately how this rumor started out, i might desire to assert that the final public every person (or a minimum of the foremost persons to the ineffective uncle) already knew and or suspected the full concern....... supply up stressful, in spite of the undeniable fact that be experienced from this enjoy and ask for forgiveness on condition that imperative. there is not any purpose to tell any guy or woman else even if on the hypothesis that they already understand and you sense risky for spreading a rumor and desire to ask for forgiveness.

It is safe to say you can make a pretty good judgment about each service by its recruiters. Rigid, laxed, or just a normal guy...in the end you went to the right one if that is what you are looking for.
