he was a general in the 1800's but,i would like to learn more about him. some that do not know who he is will like what he did back in his time with people like we r in war with now. if anyone knows how to get more info on him let me know thank you.

He was a General in the 1800s and early 1900s. Commanded the American troops in France during Wordl War One. Real name was John J. Pershing. He got his nickname when he commanded a unit of all black troops at Fort Huachuca, Arizona. Here's something a lot of folks don't know. There's a five story town house near the intersection of Lexington Avenue and 38th Street in New York City. It's called the Soldiers', Sailors', Marines' and Airmens' Club. It was started by General and Mrs. Pershing after World War One. The URL below will show you more about it, including pictures of the facility.

A simple Google search will tell you a lot. He was the commander of the Allied Expeditionary Force in WWI and also chased Pancho Villa in Mexico. These events occurred in 1916 to 1918, not in the 1800s. Good luck and good hunting.
