And do PBS or NPR have the courage to conduct a similar self examination and to make the necessary changes to bring their institutions into the mainstream of American society and opinion?

Sad that he's been out of office for the last 7 years, but is still allowed to run free. Since he no longer has presidential immunity, is there any chance he will be brought to justice for his RAPE of Monica Lewinsky? Myself and millions of other fair-minded Americans wish to know.

California and New York girls are total eye-candies... nice tan, silky hair, manicure, pedicure, shapely legs, great style (you get the point)... However in the midwest they are not so well taken care of... sort of keeps you guessing... Lesbian or midwestern? Does politics have to do anything with this or just a coincidence?

Nice person, but he allowed himself to support plans to build coal to liquid plants in Illinois, and THEN realized that they would produce vast amounts of carbon dioxide and has had to revise his position. Don't we need someone with broader experience and less tendency to shoot from the hip?

I found out last year I have a misdemeanor warrant for DUI in Washington state. I live in Arizona. I got pulled over and got a traffic ticket the other day, and the warrant issue never came up.

Someone told me misdemeanor warrants are usually only good for a certain area or distance, is that true?

Terrorists are angry. Whay are they angry?? Because the West gives them alot to be angry about - bombing Arab / Muslim countries (basically non-Christian /democratic). If we stop behaving like this, then terrorists will have no reason to be crazy...When there is a cure for a disease, there is no longer a need to fight it. WHY cant someone explain this simple concept to Bush, Blair etc. Then maybe we can all live worry-free again!!

there is no consensus on anthropogenic causes of GW and in fact, the debate rages on but only one side is getting their point of view, and their science, in front of the public and the opposition is being marginalized and systematically silenced. the latest amnesty bill was overwhelmingly rejected by the people and yet, the politicians are not taking no for an answer and will pass some form of this bill whether we like it or not.
now, it has been said that in order to get people to cooperate for the good of the whole requires sanctions that make lack of cooperation expensive.

have the powers that be decided that for the good of the whole we need to accept the economic and cultural changes that these issues bring and are you willing to accept that america will be changed forever if those powers get their way?

My apartment complex will not allow us to install an air conditioner in our apartment. So instead of "installing" one in the window, we put it on the floor of the patio through the sliding door so it can properly vent outside. We dressed it up nicely. The sliding door opens and closes just fine and the air conditioner doesn't even take up half of the door space so we are able to walk out to the patio just fine.

We live on the third (top) floor and our apartment gets extremely hot. We just received a notice that we have to remove the air conditioner within 72 hours. They said it is a safety violation (it blocks the doorway incase of fire). In fact, everyone with fans in front of their patio doors got the same notice.

We cannot afford to buy a stand-alone AC unit and cannot afford to move. If we sold our current AC we wouldn't get enough from the sale to even put a dent in the purchase of a stand-alone unit.

Do we have any rights? What are our options?

firstly some background. i am in the process of taking my employer to a tribunal for unfair treatment.

recently my employer has read all the personal emails i have sent from my work email account and then used the information in one of them to gain access to my personal and private web space.

i was using this web space (which i had purposly prevented search engines from accessing), to hold private letters / documents, so i could access them remotely.

i gave access to one of the letters to a fellow employee who needed to read one, by way of a link to the specific file in an email.

my employer used this emailed link to read the letter, which contained a comment about my employer. and now, unbelievably, they say they are taking me to court for defamation! because i sent the link to a peer, they say that that amounts to publication?

are they really alowed to read my email, my snail mail, access my private web space, and then sue me for something i wrote in free speech?

should the Democrats refuse to fund the war?

I originally was against cutting off funding, but am starting to think it is the only way that Bush will ever change course and listen to the American people.

I see headlines about how a certain political decision is costing them votes. I wonder then if every decision should be made based on what the majority think or should it be based on what the politician or official thinks is the best course of action. If say the population has an average IQ of 100 but the person we elected to make decisions like this is 160. Shouldn't we be trusting them or should we expect them to ensure that the will of the general population is enforced even when it can be wrong?

Okay, most people can agree this bill makes very little sense, but I think I figured out why it was passed. Public schools have people with disabilities who drag down the test scores due to this bill. Private schools don't accept them. Because of this, private schools seem better because of their test scores. People will then send their children to private schools. Private schools teach religion. Religious people vote Republican. Sounds solid, probably not true, just thought of it when I found out broke people can now go to private school.

It makes about as much sense as giving Bush credit for there not having been a terror attack since 9/11. Regardless of your political affiliation, it is ALWAYS impossible to prove a negative. And saying that because we have not had a terror attack since 9/11, Bush's war on terror is working, IS TRYING TO PROVE A NEGATIVE. silly wannabe cons!
