If a male may go topless then a female should be able to do so, as well. Failure to do so would be a failure to uphold the principles of equality which so many people have sought to protect over the years.

Why are some people so upset at the sight of the female breast, anyway? They must have some sort of psychological disturbance....

It is protected by law in New York State. The irony was that in the case reported, the woman's lawyer brought the precinct commanding officer a copy of the court decision, and he still refused to kick her, so this was a willful, deliberate and malicious violation of the plaintiff's constitutional rights.

I asked a question about this too, today.

Maybe the law should state that no one should show mammary glands in public, with an exception for breastfeeding.

It's nature's fault that only women have them. Not the law's.

Yep. Its all about choices for them afterall. Its a personal choice that the government has no right to interfere with. It should be between the family and her.

If that is the law, it is the law, however it is not a right, it is merely legal.

Being a male I had best keep my mouth shut or I will get in trouble.

Where does it say that women have the RIGHT to go topless? I highly doubt that!

BTW, have you noticed that most of the comments above are from men - "horny" sounding men!

Lots of women show most of their boobs with the low cut tops. Add the tiny shorts or skirts that have their "butt checks" showing and they are already half dressed! (Many of these women are so large that the rolls of fat make they look disgusting.)

I have to body to wear this stuff, even though I'm 50, but there is no way I would! There is nothing wrong with dressing modestly and appropriately!

I'm okay with that but it is not appropriate for young children. Especially with the current role models that they have, Hilton, Lohan, Spears. These are the women that young girls look up to. It's pretty sad.

As a single, heterosexual man and chauvinist pig, I say ABSO-FREAKIN'-LUTELY!!!!

If women wants to go topless and spare the tanlines, I say the law should protect her right to take it OFF!!!!

I'm usually against women having rights, but in this case I'd make an exception. To answer your question, absolutely!
