First, define "gay bashing".

Second, if we simply made a statement AGAINST the gay lifestyle then I'm sure it was good judgement.

What are you talking about!

I live in the Dallas area and I've only seen a bit of the commercials & news coverage & never even heard Oakly was gay.

A news station sat down with both candidates just before the election & asked each questions (how many officers in the police force - name of the mayor in Arlington Texas & other questions like that) Leppart answered 90% of them correctly & Oakley was oblivious to most of the answers. I was impressed with Leppart & disappointed with Oakley. And had no idea at the time that Oakley was gay.

----------------------

In a brief review of the candidates, leads me to think the fiscal conservatives voted against a "tax & spend" liberal. And it seems Oakley was the worse at mud-slinging, even though he vowed to not do so.

I think that they picked the candidate they wanted. If they had defeated a woman would that be woman bashing no, so to set this up as gay bashing is wrong.

Neither. If Dallas is guilty of anything, it is of participating in the process of electing a mayoral candidate.

"GAY BASHING" , I find the word's gay bashing sickening, every time these words come to my attention it brings to mind one person ie: Quintin Crisp, and that is enough of a reminder for me, to realize that beating people to a pulp because they were born a certain way is WRONG we are all unique individuals.

I don’t recall T. Leppert or any of his supports even making sexuality an issue.
